Happy returns of the day to all celebration today and enjoy whatever planned..?????. My No1 son has his birthday on the 30th of this month..?. Hosta what a lovely husband you have ??...Count to ten then ten again etc etc etc Clari ?
Just found a small hedgehog being pursued by the neighbours cat. I've put the hog in a tubtrug and given it a sachet of cat food. It seems happy at the moment but shouldn't it be hibernating? Do I let it go or make it a home in the garage and keep feeding it?
Fidget - fancy that - your OH and his brother having a birthday on the same day.....
Think we're getting a frost tonight Lesley, followed by the more usual wet and windy. Perhaps you're not getting it though. One of those damp, cold, foggy days here today. Weather was superb yesterday - forecast was spot on. Everywhere west of that was to be wall to wall fog, hence the long journey. Lots of weather inversions looking that way, so it makes for some nice photos. I'll do them tonight. I was too weary after resizing them etc.
D'you think Dove took her bucket and spade......
Hope chicky has a lovely day too
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fidget if it's out during the day it's not a good sign, is it small? If so then looks like you may have to look after it till spring ?. If it's 600g or more, then it's possible it's popped out for food due to the mild weather but I wouldn't take the chance.....is your garage secure enough? If so then I'm sure a box filled with leaves/paper/hay etc, you could keep it in garage...?. Jump over to the wildlife thread and you may get a few more answers from Mark etc..?
I've fed it and taken it up the garden to put it among the leaves beneath the bug hotel. It seems OK there at the moment. Its snuggled down in the dry leaves. Maybe the cat had disturbed it from where it was. Its a bengal and very nosy.
Beautiful tree Chicky - some people are so clever and imaginative. Unfortunately I'm not one of them.
OH managed to get home last night - but only just. The fog was getting thicker quite quickly as they came over the North Sea but they snuck in. Today he has been busy starting on the list of jobs I have for him - bet he wishes he'd stayed at work now
I have my own lists to attend to - in fact I have just made a list of the lists I need to make
But the house has had it's seasonal cleaning / clearing out / trimming up and is now looking quite festive. Lots of little jobs to do over the next few days but am glad to have sorted the big ones out so I can relax a bit before the family arrive on Christmas Eve.
Might try to find something nice to watch on TV this evening. There's a big tub of Celebrations that have been giving me the evil eye for the last week. Might need to do some quality control testing later.
Happy Birthday to Mr Dove and Mr Fidget. My OH, nephew and cousin all have a birthday this week - god daughter and niece last week, FIL & 2 friends the week before that, another nephew next week. I'm beginning to think nooky should be banned in March...

Here's the RHS tree at Waterloo - had my phone with me this time
Thank you Chicky
It's lovely. The dried flowers in the baubles are a great idea.
Enjoy your trip and the lights.
