  • I've emailed my friend, hopefully she'll get back to me tomorrow.  I suspect she's got her feet up this evening image

We can't get capons in the UK any more - the skills to physically castrate cockerels were lost when they started using homonal implants to 'chemically castrate' them instead.  Now the hormonal implants have been banned but no one has the skills to revert to the traditional way.

We buy fattened free range cockerels and chickens (they call them all cockerels but they may be either) from a local farm

    Night Dove.

I made more mince pies this evening; they're not exactly uniform size! Will try and get a picture in the morning.

Clari    I'll eat any shape/size of mince pie so those that don't pass your quality control will be gratefully received imageimage
