Morning all. Day off today, had hopes of getting out into the garden but am feeling pretty awful as couldn't sleep - got maybe 2 hours max. When this happens I normally get through okay so am relying on that, but feeling quite queasy from lack of sleep right now. Hope everyone has a good day and stayswarm / cool as appropriate.

  • LGtheL , don't push yourself - give yourself an easy day. It's possible to overtire yourself and then sleep won't come. The garden will manage just fine on it's own for a day or two. Put your feet up. image

Frosty here - makes for pretty views from the train.  I'd rather have a good cold winter than a mild one .....but then we have a heated house -image ((hugs)) for  Clari.  Put the job hunting at the top of today's to-do list and leave the scrubbing for the others.

Got a busy day in the office, but then plan to make the most of the fact I am on Oxford Street to get the last pressies on my listimage  So might be a later train home than usual.

    Hi all.

Very cold, not expected to get above 1C all day.

Suppose I should start thinking about Christmas at some point.

Job hunting for you , I think Clari, you deserve better.

    Morning all.

Good luck job hunting Clari. I hope you find one where they treat you well and pay you more.

I must start the Christmas cards. Must finish the middle bed and plant the tulips in it. Must put another 7 barrow loads manure on veg garden.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Morning everyone.

Clari, yes - you clearly deserve better.  Something good is out there waiting for you!

My "to do" list (mostly as a result of being away so long) numbers 16 things, supposedly for today.  What's the betting "start tax return" gets shelved until later in the week??

Chicky, if I give you my prezzie list could you brave Oxford Street for me?  Pretty please??  (Haven't been there for... at least 40 years!)

Number one on the "to do" list is to buy bird food.  The blue tits are lining up round the back of the house, telling me they are out of sunflower hearts.  Better get on with it...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Thanks Dove. I think I'm better pushing through though. Nights like this happen to me periodically and as long as it doesn't go on for more than a couple of days I'm ok. Well, okay once I get going at least, which is the difficult bit this morning! I work Tues-Thurs so anything I don't get done on a Monday has to wait until Friday...

Only a bit of compost and leaf mould wrangling today (plus a few million indoor tasks, but the less said about those the better), the fresh air will probably do me good. But maybe a cuppa first - anyone care to join me?
