    Morning image

Very glad I took the in-laws back yesterday & not today. Was down to -3C in the shed last night & it's very foggy. A14 and A1 in freezing fog? - no thanks.

Am celebrating a day completely on my own today. No need to plan any meals & still slobbing around in violety / blue dressing gown at 10am.... Lovelyimage

Turkey stripping today. Let's hope it doesn't want to do a pole dance tooimage

    Morning all.

    Good sleep last night.

A friend called last night to say her husband had a heart attack yesterday morning at 11.15. Rushed to hospital and stent fitted by 2.15.  I LOVE THE NHS.

Glorious sunny morning after a hard frost.

    Enjoy to-day one and all.

  • Good morning all,

Lovely photo Hosta. Is that a Willow Tit or a Marsh Tit at the top? We get them too but don't know the difference.

I heard the first drumming of a woodpecker this morning and the thrush is singing. There is still a lot of Winter to come so I hope they don't get caught out

I think, but might be wrong, they're all long tailed tits.

    Morning all. -5°, big frost.

Had a bad night. Sore throat, nose running down throat made me cough. I've just got up, OH fed the horses.

OH lost his car key, ordered new key yesterday at vast expense. When he fed the horses he put on an ancient anorak that he hadn't worn for a bit and keys were in the pocket. ???  On Christmas Eve son found OH's keys among the stockings that the children had laid out in the inglenook.

We have a key drawer but I still find keys in odd places.........

Clear skies and bright sun today.   Watched the dawn this morning in between reading and kitten wrangling.   Cosmos is a pillow hog.   Minstrel is a demon fly catcher and there was one buzzing around in my bedside lampshade...........

Got up eventually and went to sew a frock for Possum for NY Eve and it seems my fancy new Bernina sewing machine was dropped in the move.  Needs a doctor.  Bums!!!   Good job we'd already planned to take her to La Rochelle this pm for shopping and some festive hot chocolate and pancakes.

Much humphing and disappointment as I had planned to spend Jan and Feb sewing for me and the house till light levels improve enough to paint again and sow seeds.
