This is my message of hope. I took this picture in S. Africa 2013. It was the first Black Rhino to have been born for 2 years, due to poaching. It was still alive in August 2016.

Hello all. I've been reading all your comments about George Michael. I liked his music as well, but have never seen him perform live.

Our son decided it would be convenient to go back to Canberra as he was finishing his evening meal. Quite threw us off balance, so lots of getting food goodies for him to take back, get the cat into her travel cage, etc. (we were still finishing off our meal) Anyway, he got home just before 9pm, so that's the Christmas visitors all safely home and us able to relax again.

Hubby went outside at 11.30 pm and said the temp is 22 degrees. It's been a stinking day. I did three loads of washing and was gasping by the time I got back inside after hanging each load out,.needless to say everything was bone dry in no time flat.

Sorry to hear about your daughter Fairy. I hope her mouth settles down soon.

im packing up now. Catch you all tomorrow.image

Sorry to hear about your excursion to A&E Fairy - hope Fairylet is making a good recoveryimage

To the band / concert line up suggested by Doc I would like to add Glen Frey, Leonard Cohen and Merle Haggard.

To direct / produce the event I nominate George Martin.

And to compere the whole thing I suggest Terry Wogan, Victoria Wood, Caroline Ahern, Ronnie Corbett & Alan Rickman.

Hello all. I hope you had good days yesterday.

Family all gone, 17 of them, peace reigns! Son 1 had to come back though, as he'd left his new pullover in the kitchen and I found various things, including presents, belonging to the children. Son 1 is spending tonight with daughter 2 and tomorrow night with daughter 1 so he will deliver everything, including leftovers for daughter 2's chickens (which she'd left on the garden table).

We had a lovely time, grandchildren were delightful, no one fought. Last night all the women watched "Call the Midwife" and all the men sat in the kitchen eating smoking salmon and boozing. I'm now shattered! Feet and joints ache.

Washing machine and tumble dryer are busy.

Looking forward to going to our cottage in January for peace and quiet!

  • I've just learned that another great singer died this year - frequently uncredited for her work - the soprano Marni Nixon who dubbed the actresses' voices in My Fair Lady, The King and I and West Side Story and countless other films, died in July.
