It turned out to be a lovely sunny day and all was going well until I had to squeeze up a tiny narrow alley to a house in Instow. My handset started to make a high pitched squeal but worked until the next drop when it died on me. Oh how I laughed recalling colleagues saying " why do you want paperwork?, it's all on the handset now". ha ha.
Deliveries completed on time and I was back in store earlier than scheduled. ( but no lunch break , again )
I've just saved £160 on house insurance renewal. Happy Bunny.
We've got Hubby's friend from school coming tomorrow afternoon for a couple of days. He arrives after I get in lunchtime and he's ok with my going to work on Tuesday.
Chicky, great news for you too. Your Dad sounds as though he'll be happy there with the lovely view. Don't forget to pack the binoculars whatever you do.
Congratulations on your appraisal too. It's nice to know you're wanted
Just back from a lovely carol service where there was even a little puppet show to explain things to the children there. That was the best bit.
Congratulations to LP and family - what a lovely Christmas present, and fine names, as Joyce says
Lovely news for you too chicky. Huge relief for you all. Hope Dad settles in quickly and has the weather to enjoy his new views x
And Hosta - of course they love you.....
Had a grand day. Like spring up on the hill and even got a glimpse of sun occasionally to go with a bit of blue sky. Now showered and having a cuppa and those pesky children are asking for a fish supper. I've already driven 240 miles today.....sigh....
They owe me BIG time
Took lots of pix and this one was from the first little summit - Green Hill on the plateau between the two lochan filled corries, en route to the summit. Anyone doing the Lochnagar hills today was also getting some good views.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Congratulations LillyP, great news and lovely names. Is that a brother for your grandchild that was born around the same time as our poppet? Best wishes to you and your family x
We've got a summer windy day today. I'd only just got the washing mashine going this morning when the power went off. It didn't come back on until after lunch time. I was a bit concerned that the automatic program would be confused, but we went to town for some shopping and when we got back, it hadfinished its cycle and was waiting for me to hang the clothes out. Just as well. Since the door won't open if it's not finished what it wants to do.
Our son's birthday today, so I can relate to those of you who have children/grandchildren with birthdays so close to Christmas. I must admit I can never get my head around Christmas until his birthday is past. Hubby is planning the meal for 25th, so part of the shopping today was for that. He always makes a special ice cream (takes 900 ml cream) with dried fruit, chocolate, booze, etc. I'm still debating whether to get the plastic tree out of the shed or not to bother. I'll probably weaken a day before. BBQ Pork is on the menu plus roast vegs.
We noticed that our regular visitor's car was parked at her mother's place when we drove past this morning, so I guess we'll get a visit tonight or tomorrow night. Hubby groaned when he saw her car. Sometimes you just don't want to be social.

Good morning all
G'day Pat
OHs birthday today too. An outing to the seaside is planned - but first a cuppa in bed and cards and pressies to open ... When he wakes up ...
