    Morning all.

Pat    the rain and cooler temperature makes life a wee bit easier for you.

Clari     TGIF where work is concerned.  Make yourself a meal that "he"" doesn't like and you do.

Have you got a load of washing on yet Dove?

    Hi all.

    Certainly not LG. image

Jack hammers already going on the lane outside, going to be at least a week. Took to wearing ear defenders yesterday.

  • Not actual laundry in yet Joyce -  it has to have an empty detergent only hot wash happen - that is under way. image

Pdoc - take yourself off for at least part of the day - that's what I do when they start digging the road up near here - at least we can do that, unlike when they decided to dig part of the car park up at work - although to be fair I did try to plan several 'home visits' for that week image

Clari ((hugs))  get a takeaway and snuggle on the sofa with Reggie and a good book this evening image

Good morning.   The sun has just heaved itself high enough to burn off the mist and it looks like another lovely day.  OH is out playing golf and I am giving Bonzo lots of cuddles so he doesn't feel left out while Rasta plays with the kitties.   So much for the dog barrier.

Have to do a few errands and then planting for me and dog walking when OH gets home.

Pat - glad it's cooler for you.   Dove - have fun with your new toy. LP - hope the light works for OH.   Chicky - have a great time in Nottngham.

Have a good day all and Clari, watch your diet rules so you don't feel worse.

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

Happy new washing machine Doveimage.  I love reading the manuals though don't always understand themimage.  We seem to use just three programmes of hundredsimage.

LG your step-over sounds very promising.  I love a crisp apple too.

Pdoc - I sympathiseimage.  A new high school is being built nearby and loads of construction vehicles are using the 'unmade' lane at the back of the house and it's not going to be finished till 2018. The dog went to the groomers yesterday and it was sad to see her walk through the sea of mud they leave behind.  Our normal walkways have been closed off for the foreseeable future.

    Happy daysimage

Give my love to QMC Chicky, if you go past it. Many happy years as a junior doctor there, great memories.

  • Morning everyone!  Boiler engineer arrived at 7.35am today, so my morning is rather longer than usual...  He's past retirement age, but reckons he won't give up unless he has to - he clearly really loves boilers (!) and has a lock-up full of redundant ones, to use as spares.  And he still runs up and down our 27 stairs like a young'un.

You're very chatty today. It took 5 mins to read this morning's contributions.  image

Hope your stubbed toe isn't sticking out like a sore thumb, Dove...

Lesley & Punkdoc, commiserations re building noise and mess.  The gas main on the Burnley road below us here is being replaced at night, so the noise begins at 10pm and stops around 6am.  Ok for us - we sleep in the back of the house and are far enough away for it to be only just audible - but goodness knows how folk living on the main road are coping.  However, construction sites aren't all bad; our 2-year-old granddaughter is endlessly entertained by the big yellow diggers, cranes etc which she can watch from their front window.  image

Clari, hope today isn't as bad as you fear... and that you have a lovely indulgent evening.

    Best wishes to all!

    Morning all.

    Busy, busy, busy.

Dropped hubby at work and popped in for some supplies ( reduced bargains )at Waitrose.

Cuppa and some toasted bloomer  and I'm off with my chainsaw to be all butch and manly.

Woodchip guys came yesterday with another load. One was admiring my FAB  tan and was teasing the driver as he doesn't have a passport and the furthest he's ever been from Cornwall is ,..... Bristol??

Is it just me who can't decide if  that's A: a bit weird, or B: kinda sweet?

Very West Country I have to say.

    Weekend around the corner folks.

    Devon.
