Hob nail boots on , on Monday, for the pension people. It's my money, I want it ,and I want it now. Just because I've let them play with it for 30 years or so, doesn't mean they can keep it..
Right, I'm up, showered, dressed and mascara has been applied I've got my second and I'm fit to face delivery men. The washing machine was pulled out last night and resident spider and dust was removed - actually it wasn't too bad in there, I was quite pleased with myself. I think that OH had been expecting a lot worse than that
Fidget, have your hob nail boots got spikes in too
I've stubbed my toe ... the one next to the little one ... it's sore

Good morning all. 'Day off' today but not a lot of time available for gardening or anything else as have to take daughter to pre-secondary school thingummy. However, I have received a lovely early Christmas present - a stepover apple tree, which I need to get into its temporary accommodation as its final spot won't be ready for a couple of weeks. Hoping to manage that this afternoon before it gets dark.
Hope your difficult day is not too difficult, Clarington.
Am hoping I'm not the idiot, Punkdoc (perhaps don't answer that!).
Have a good day, whatever the weather, Pat.
Better wake daughter...

It's a Christmas Pippin - a fairly new variety. I'm quite fussy about eating apples (have to be super crisp - Braeburn, Granny Smith etc) - has anyone tried it? It sounds promising, and I'm sure if the apples come from my own garden I'll be less fussy ;-)
This is probably not the school she'll go to (won't be confirmed until March) but I too hope it's a positive experience.

Just had a phone call ... it'll be here in approx 10 mins, depending on traffic ...
I don't know that one LG ... it'll be interesting to see how it does and what it's like ... I too am a bit picky about apples - I like a crisp slightly tart Cox, Braeburn type, or a fresh russet
The whole school thing seems so complicated nowadays - it was bad enough for my two 30 ish years ago ... when I was at school you knew right from the start where you'd be going and who would be going along with you. No wonder youngsters get stressed

I have friends around the country who still have that, Dove. But here in London the population levels mean there are LOADS of schools - there are probably 12 or 15 that she could theoretically go to, with about 5 that are very nearby and 'likely'. Talking to friends around the country, this is not typical! It is very complicated but we did it already a few years ago so are quite relaxed. We are lucky in that my other daughter's school still has a sibling policy, we're happy with it and daughter 2 wants to go there, so it's not too stressful for us. The other schools on our list are just belt & braces.
God luck with your white goods :-)

Washing machine installed and old one taken away - very pleasant and efficient delivery chaps. I shall now make another coffee and read the manual ..............

Good morning LG
What a lovely present! What variety is it? Days are very short at the moment. Hope you get time to do all that's needed.
Hope daughter's school thing is full of positives - that transition is sooooooo important
