    Good morning,

Pat dogs always go to those who will cuddle them!

Lesley, I am so sorry for your loss, hugs

Clari, I too was worried about you, glad you ok

DD when we get "wake up" calls we are foolish to ignore them, we have lost too many this year and are making a point of valuing each day. We really do try to find the positives. It's always too easy to criticise !

this is a very Christmassy weekend for us looking forward to it

    have a happy Friday

Hi everyone. Yes the dogs certainly know how to lift my spirits. We had a good laugh at our daughter's poodle not wanting to miss out on snuggle time.image

weve had drizzle for two days - even had the heater going for a while in the house. Prediction is for it to get back to a very warm 27c tomorrow. Crazy weather!

Morning all/afties Pat. Lovely pic - hope you're feeling a bit more like yourself image

Not much more I can add to everyone's  words doc. Not sure there's a solution to any of it either.

Sorry too Lesley. I think it's true - sad things happen all the time, but at this time of year, when surrounded by other people's jolliness, it makes it worse. Not everyone does have a happy Christmas or New Year.

Hope you're more positive today too DD. You'll get there, even if it takes a little while.

Clari - glad you're ok. I think I'd have been phoning the boss when everyone else b***ered off. You shouldn't have been left on your own. If he couldn't send anyone, you should have gone too, and s*d the lot of 'em.

At least it's Friday, and it's not raining or freezing here, so that's a result image

I'll catch you all later. Better go and mine salt.....

((Hugs)) for Lesley - sad news, and such a shock.

Lots of phone calls to make today to see if I can find some respite care for Dad.  They seem to be ready to send him home next week, but won't let him out of the Southampton area, which means a lonely house.  Have some contacts to follow up, hoping someone will have some space.

On a happier note, meeting up with sisters, nieces and a full complement of Chicklets (imageimage) to visit Kew Gardens light display this eveningimage.  Forecast is dry.....really looking forward to itimageimage

    Glad you're all ok.

Hosta hugs to those who feel the need. Help yourself. I'm a huggy sort of a chap.

Woodchip delivered yesterday afternoon , so I'll be moving that today. I sent the boys off with a wee tip to get them some xmas cheer. Bah Humbug.

Three things about last night's TV.

!: the worse house won " house of the year"

2: John Hammond , the weatherman's name was on screen as " JOHH"

    Morning all.

Nothing has happened here since last night and didn't watch the News in bed this morning.

This year I've been to more funerals than in previous years, have lost several of our English friends in France, but they were all well older than us.

But the sky outside is blue and the sun is coming out and when weeding yesterday I found loads of snowdrops pushing their way out.

Hosta; when I started building race car engines I was forced to hand back my ladies card!

Is it just me or are we getting a lot more adverts for chemicals and treatments for delicate lady bits at the moment? They're even alongside programmes that are typically male focused (Wheeler Dealers, Top Gear reruns) which implies either

    a) I'm not alone as a lass in really enjoying male typical fast cars

    b) there are a lot of girlfriends who are going to be getting puzzled looks from their boyfriends when presents are opened and she doesn't squeal with the delightful prospect of non itchy bits image

Day off today! But unlike yesterday's day off I don't intend on going anywhere near any fire engines. His lordship is going straight to his friends after work so I have the entire day / night to myself again. The hound and I are going to head off to the Peaks shortly for a long stroll before I pick up 30 kg of raw meat to prepare dog meals this evening. I always say that this dog eats better than a lot of children but it's true! He does however have to have his vegetables smuggled in still.

Oh... and I need to make some more mince pies as the last lot disappeared rather too quickly! image

    Keep safe and warm everyone.

  • Have just spoken to Wonky - it's proper flu!!!  Aching all over and shivering cold then hot and sweaty in turns ... bless her.  Stepwomble and partner are arriving tomorrow - I've told her to send out for pizzas.  ((hugs)) Wonky, if you're well enough to look in.
