Sounds as thought the kittens are recovering from their 'flu.
Decorations are all done for the Abbey. Then they will be used for the local church Carol service then they will come home to decorate the house. Then when they are nicely dry they are used as kindling for the fire.
Have almost finished my English cards, to post tomorrow. Next will be the cards to friends in France.
100 mince pies to make tomorrow, but first I will have to go to the SM. Forgot to buy the wine for the mulled wine on Sunday!
Now the farmer has delivered the new hay and the horses have almost finished the last lot I will move them into the paddock by the house for the winter. Then I can fill their water from the kitchen tap if the outside one freezes. Easier to keep an eye on them when they are wearing rugs too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
BL I heard the end of a report on the radio this evening re a court case in Dordogne......It seemed as though a neighbour was complaining about the noise the frogs were making in the next door pond.
Have you heard anything about it? It seemed a bit extreme going to court,
Less trudging over sodden or frozen ground for you if the horses are nearer the house.

I haven't heard of that case, Joyce. My son once rented a house in the Loiret with a pond next door. The frogs were so noisy they had to change bedrooms in the mating season. The pond was a reservoir owned by the local fire brigade.

Busy and Joyce - the kittens are doing well thanks. Still have weepy eyes and snuffles but don't seem worried by them and are eating well. Cosmos has had another play with Rasta while Minstrel looked on, unfazed but not quite ready to join in. She's a cautious kitten. The fun will start when they meet Bonzo who is not as predictable as Rasta and finds new stuff worrying.
I suspect those frogs are invaders from Eastern Europe. They arrived in our part of Belgium about 4 or 5 years ago and make the most incredible noise which carries a long way. Between them and the mallards, sleep can be hard to come by in the mating season. I sincerely hope they haven't made it this far west!
Love the idea of multi-functional church to house to fire decorations. OH found a wonderful picture on Facebook - two very plump cats in baskets either side of the trunk of an Xmas tree whose owners had removed all the lower branches leaving just the top third decorated with baubles. One radical solution to the cats and tree problem.
No horses in our paddock yet. Haven't seen the neighbours since they came for lunch nearly 3 weeks ago and they didn't turn up on the agreed day to chat about the paddock and access and security. Bit dippy though. Good that you can have yours nearby to keep an eye on Busy.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Good morning everyone. We've had 4.5mm rain overnight, so no hose dragging today, and the temp has dropped 10 degrees since the last days, so it's fine, sunny, and cool, even a bit cold if you can't get out of the southerly blasting past. They even announced snow in the Victorian peaks. Mid December after weeks of heat wave and now this. Can't adjust.
Fairy, please don't worry about putting the jigsaws on while your wrist is playing up. There are plenty more to do. Found some nice bird ones today.
Best wishes for Friday. Nearly the weekend for the workers.
Today is going to be a very difficult day work wise. Topped with being home alone in the evening as his lordship is having an evening out with his friend (he's also out all day Saturday).
I forsee a trip to Tesco for sugar filled junk food on the horizon!
Ive had a text to say that the washing machine will be delivered between 8:10 and 12:10 ( think that's what it said - I'd better check) I s'pose I'd better get showered and dressed ....
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Edd, hello. Yes I've been a bit down lately, but it's some sickness I'm suffering from rather than low light problems.

Our cat would have had no problem with that tree, he would have been on top of it in seconds. I would not have had as many mole problems either.

Great picture - those cats don't look like the sort who climb trees (or even move very often
)
Off to Nottingham this weekend to visit Chicklet
. Will probably pass Fidget on the M1 -I'll be sure to wave ??????
