I've always been the one to make morning coffee. Didn't want to go downstairs as that meant I would have to walk the dog before coffee and having to get dressed first, so all the coffee and tea making equipment is in the bedroom.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The coffee arrived ... eventually In the meantime I finished off my book. Now we're up and getting on with the day ... I have orange pastry to make for the mince pies ................. I shall listen to the Archers while I'm making it .......
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Decorating our tree today - rest of the house was done last week, but we have saved the tree so Chicklet can join in.
One of the nursing homes we visited yesterday was perfect, so thats Dad sorted when he comes out of hospital. As well as being clean and friendly, it has views over Southampton water so he can watch the boats going too and fro (keen sailor, my Dad).....he's already requested that his binoculars are added to his packing list. So happy that things are falling in to place
It must be a huge weight lifted Chicky - so pleased to hear you found somewhere for your Dad - it sounds lovely.
Orange pastry / mince pies - sounds lovely too. I haven't made any yet - maybe I should - could just fancy one of those with a dollop of something on the side. Could you do an extra half dozen for me please Dove? - nobody else seems to like them round here. At least that's what they say - but they always disappear... Maybe Santa knows where the cake tin is
Tree and a few other decs today. The weather's a bit nicer than it was yesterday so I might go and cut some greenery to stick in a bucket by the back door ready to be brought in on 23rd.
It was very foggy yesterday and 2 of OH's flights into Heathrow were cancelled. Hope the same doesn't happen tonight because he should be flying back to Norwich ready for 4 days off. He's been away for 5 days and I really want him home now - I have soooo many jobs for him...
