The cafe at the V&A is stunning, isn't it? Glad you enjoyed my home town Topbird. I absolutely love it, though I confess I've never actually been in Fortnum & Mason or very many of those iconic shops. Harrods a couple of times, Liberty quite a lot, but that's about it.

No gardening today, was working. But I work from home most of the time and can see the frosty garden from my window. Worried that all the bulbs I planted in pots at the weekend might have suffered in the cold. Oh well, too late to fret now.

I liked Harrods when I was young, they had quite reasonably priced maternity dresses and when daughter was born they had a breast feeding and baby changing room by their buffet restaurant. The only one I'd ever come across in 1976.

I've never actually looked round in there. My brother took me to lunch there when he worked nearby in the 80s. I bought some Scottie dog things for a relative in their Christmas basement in the 90s, and looked at range cookers about 9 years ago... once a decade then. So I guess I'm due a trip in the next couple of years!

I go past it on the bus a fair amount, and have seen the outside of Fortnums. From the bus. I know my place image.

Evening all. Don't worry about certificates and what not for the electrics. We have an electrician who will be  signing off the work.

Money however is the big issue: with my job looking uncertain hiring in more help isn't ideal.

Still: if anyone hears of a job going in the Sheffield area for a Makaton speaking generally enthusiastic museum worker let me know ;)

Clari , the RAF are closing a Museum at RAF Scampton there might be some stuff for your museum? As it had RAF fire engines !

Topbird , Bottle of Whiskey from F & M sounds special but out of my price league

GWRS: the museum of RAF firefighting is

1 . not owned by the RAF

    2. not closing!

The collection started as one man's hobby but as you'll see if you look at photos... it got rather large! He was given permission (as a serving officer) to keep the exhibits in what were then empty and near abandoned buildings. His bunch of volunteers have done such brilliant things to transform it into a museum.

Currently those volunteers are boxing it all up and there is a huge hunt for a new location. They have a lot of support behind them I know it will go well.

Unfortunately our museum is already full to bursting else we would gladly offer them space.
