  • Merry Christmas Hosta and lovely husband....I was brought up with "Shirley Bassey" my mother was obsessed ???. No2 son has just facetimed, he got engaged today to his lovely boyfriend..?, the day seems to be turning out quite lovely! ? All cooking is doing well, hubby is watching harry spotter....he loves the films and read all the books! ?

    Been to the cemetery. Made me teary as usual, but I've come home and hoovered the lounge, got the Carols from King's on, and just waiting for the girls to come back  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    In the true spirit of the season, I've just phoned my oldest friend. 

    We haven't spoken since his wife and I had a fall out almost 2 years ago.. Spoke for 45 minutes and he's promised they'll come down ( from Scotland ) to visit next year.

    Stage one of xmas meal over. . . starters, xmas pud and ice cream, followed by mincepie and morsel of cake That was for the benefit of 90 year old uncle who is now back home. OH and I will have the main course later.

    Hope your waistbands aren't getting too tightimage

    All good so far.

    Sausage sandwiches for breakfast, washed down with champers, very decadent.

    Top of the Pops [ why? ] and the Queens speech watched, it's what we did as kids.

    Lazy afternoon and then a nice piece of Dexter beef for tea.

    Merry Christmas once again.

    Clarice, sorry. I too meant to send congratulations to you and your son. Do they live in SA too?

    After 9 hours sleep last night, I know I've a cheek, but I've just had another hour siesta. Maybe the sleep fairies are looking after me at last.

    Cuppa, home made stilton and ham tartlets and off to watch bake off.
