There's nothing tastier than fruit you've grown yourself, Dove.
Yes, I've got a "real" camera this time, not just my phone, and if there's anything worth sharing I'll upload them in December. Views from the train were pretty misty, with snow flurries... I'm looking forward to getting to the cottage & lighting the stove.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Just heard from Wonky - she's shattered - she's been making Bark Angels on the back of the flat bed truck .......... it's not all she's been doing, but that's the bit that was most fun apparently!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Liri I hope you enjoy your stay in the cottage and that you get all your intended jobs done, snow was forecast here but there's no sign of it yet. Very pleased to hear that you decided on the taxi.
Dove what are Bark Angels?
I've decided to go to Cheshire on Sunday (weather permitting) so have been rushing around buying Christmas presents and cards and preparing the customary food parcels.
Evening all, we are back in France. It was dark at 6.15pm, now 6.40pm. When we left almost 2 weeks ago it was light up to 7.30pm. Clocks changed while we were in Norfolk.
I was by a window in the plane and the forests of Dordogne as we approached Bergerac airport still looked pretty green. As we drove home individual trees were changing colour but a lot are oaks and Robinia and they are still mostly green. I think autumn colours in England are ahead of SW France.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Glad you're home safe BL The leaves in Norfolk are really falling now - in just a few days our amelanchier has gone from being a flame of crimson and gold to being virtually bare of leaves.
Wonky - I'll see you Saturday, and I'll bring lunch ......... enough for your Lovely Hub too

Glad you're home safe Busy. We've had a light frost yesterday and today some rain and lots of leaves have fallen in the lanes making it slippery underfoot. Still plenty of green about tho. More wind and rain expected but not too bad for tomorrow's excursion to a market.
Wonky - glad you're having fun.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Lesley - see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7yZxh2iJ4I how to make Snow Angels.
You make Bark Angels the same way, but using different material

I thought that too Lesley.
I even wondered if I could make angels with the bark from next door's silver birch. . . . . .
Glad you're home safe BL
