3C at midday today! Shock horror! OH was up early but says he saw no sign of frost but it must have been close. I had a lie in after a disturbed night - purry kitties and Minstrel swearing a lot at Cosmos but they're playing well this pm. Seriously unimpressed with the rescue organisation. The whole collection thing was shambolic and now it turns out Cosmos' weepy eye is cat flu so neither he nor she can have their jabs till he's better and we know she hasn't caught it. Brilliant!
Both are eating well though and full of beans so fingers crossed. I've dealt with cat flu before in street rescued kittens and they survived.
Bright and sunny so off out with the dogs after the news and a coffee.
DD stick to your guns. The agent won't get any commission at all if he doesn't sell to you and there are no other buyers in prospect.
Busy - no shop like that here and Cholet's over an hour away so I'll just have to wait till I can grow my own pak choi and greens and PSB. I have the seeds, just need the potager.
Dove - glad the neck's OK. You too Pat. Onwards and upwards.
Keep warm everyone.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Roast beef sounds excellent Dove. I think we'll be doing Vietnamese tonight 'cos that's not easy to find at home.
Lovely sunny day in London. On the bus to Westminster Abbey at the moment - looking forward to seeing some festive lights & decorations without the pressure to do lots of shopping.
Enjoy your afternoon everyone
PS - loving the meemow pics and stories Obelixx - not so good about the cat flu though. Hope things clear up quickly.

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I had an email a few days ago Pdoc - she was trying to stay away from the pooter due to RSI type problems.
Obelixx - similar thing happened when son adopted Doorak - he was very poorly - he's reached a fine old age, but it was not good at the time.
Topbird - if you haven't got anywhere already picked out, we ate at Cay Tre in Soho about 12 months ago with a friend who has travelled extensively in Vietnam - he was impressed and we loved it.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Car Insurance people rang. They are talking damage to floorpan and structure. Might not be economically repairable. Its not three year old until the end of next month. Thankfully it was not the old Vectra, what state that would be in ?
New car for Xmas then Fidget. You did say the truck driver was insured?
Just back from walkies with two very excited doggies. Kittens are upstairs in splendid isolation till they get their jabs and running around chasing each other with unfairy-like paws so the doggies are still excited instead of dozing. Cosmos has bright yellow eyes at the mo cos of the drops. Bit scary. Last time I had kittens with flu they were in a dreadful state, found under a box in the street when I was a student, so I fed them Horlicks with a syringe and they survived. No need so far with Cosmos who is eating well.
I need to go and post some birthday cards and will see if the 2 for 1 offer is still going on the 70 litre bags of compost. Little reminder to OH to finish forking over the bed under the silk tree so I can get my bulbs in. Tempus fugit and all that.
T'bird - last time I looked Westminster Abbey is very expensive to visit. Seriously. What if you just need to pray?

Obelixx, if you want to visit the abbey for personal prayer you go to the West Gate to be admitted. There are also services every day which are free to attend.
Fidget - I did wonder if that might be the case - remember I said about the chassis possibly being twisted?
I really think a new car is the best thing - we had a brand new car which was rammed from behind when parked (fortunately no one was in it at the time). Although it was repaired it was never the same, and had all sorts of strange problems occur in the months following repair and it never handled properly.

Well I thought that. If the chassis is damaged, I'm not sure I would want him in it. Unfortunately, he really really likes the car, and they don't make that engine any more. So he would have to have one with a smaller engine. Even then, there don't seem to be many with that sort of spec around. City safe seems to be standard now. Some of the other toys are not there now. We also bought it with a view to it being long term ,until he retired, not taking all the write down in two years.
But as he says, if he was in the Vectra, he could be in a hospital sucking his food through a straw. We went for a ride in the courtesy car yesterday. He is still more shaken than he will admit to.
Fidget - I'm so lucky - I've never been in a bad smash - a friend has (in a Volvo, it was elderly but still a tank) - it was over eighteen months ago and a formerly confident driver is still anxious about going on the motorway.
I think my instinct would be to get back on the horse asap and keep getting back until I wasn't anxious any more ......... but as I said, I've never been there ....... hope it all gets much better for you both very soon. ((hugs))

Fidget hope things settle down / get sorted out soon. You'll be tired of counting your blessings soon but it could have beenmuch worse.
Obelixx - £20 for the abbey - but I've been meaning to go for years. Not likely to get an invite to any royal weddings so just had to cough up. Very interesting but I like York and Wells more
Dove - thx for the heads up. That one is on the list to look at.
just having first cuppa since my 7am alarm call - absolutely gasping
