Yes, I take it back - Angus looks bad down south, but nothing here other than gusty blowiness and drizzle despite all the warnings.
Hope the seamen on the the ships are ok.
BL, I remember when we moved to Suffolk when I was a small child. We moved into a dilapidated very old farmhouse - our one cat (Socks) was almost overwhelmed by the task but he set about it assiduously - at one time he had two mice in his mouth at once. My granny came to stay with us to help out over the move - she said that one night in bed she felt something and woke to see a mouse run across her chest! Fortunately she was made of stern stuff and it didn't faze her at all However it was a topic of conversation at Christmas visits for years to come.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Wet, windy and cold here. Stream has white water in it and sounds very fierce. In summer it tinkles, but at this time of year it almost sounds frightening.
OH thinks we need some air, she might be right, but I don't think it will be fun, maybe one of those things you enjoy when it is over.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Dove, thanks for trying so hard to send some rain over. We had thunder all through the final of Australian Idol tonight, and now when I took HRH for her last walkies for the night (11pm), it's actually raining lightly. Please try a little harder!
It's been very windy today, strong gusts and some rain. I hope it's better for my drive home tomorrow.
I'm not scared of mice, it's just that this one is so noisy. I've emptied the bin, it was fully of rustly paper, the remains of a baguette and pistachio nut shells. Mouse was having a field day.
Cat is still asleep on the bed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I'm sure you can prescribe yourself a medicinal brandy Pdoc - can you prescribe some for the rest of us too?
Big pot of gammon with onions, leeks, carrots etc simmering on the hob for a lovely supper tonight and a few evenings to come, and lots of stock for some soup as well. The house smells fabulous

Snakes, spiders, creepy crawlies - no problem - bring 'em on.
Mice - in the bedroom - I'd probably be sleeping in the car....
- and don't get me started on the thought of rats in the house (cue quivering smilie)
Morning all - damp and breezy out there - fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse.

Pdoc, OH is probably right ... they usually are, I find
Look forward to tea and crumpets by the fire when you come back in.
My OH is convinced I need to drive him to a local trading estate as he has something to collect ... he's probably right as well ...

Back from very cold walk, although it did stop raining.
For those that know the area, we were up at Redmires, lots of snow around and the reservoir is very empty.
Need to warm up, those crumpets sound a good idea Dove. A small brandy might be needed.
