  • Hello folks from frosty Lismore.  image

That's where I'm standing at the moment, on a very blowy hill behind the cottages, wearing 2 pairs of gloves (and plenty else!).  I'm off for a very brisk walk after this, then back to work.

Lots of berries around this year.  The cotoneaster in the garden is being mobbed by blackbirds.  image

Joyce, Oban was only busy in contrast to here, where we might get 2 cars per day...

    Hope you're sharing this weather!

  • Well, Hosta and Pat might not appreciate minus 2 at the moment...  image

lovely photos Lirio. I could do with a bit of minus 2 at the moment, but there you go - we always want what we haven't got. image

    Lovely photos Liri.

A flock of  redwings has descended on the large holly so the berries will be stripped in a couple of days.

Send some heat our way please Hosta.

  • Good morning all,

Hope Pat is feeling cooler and Hosta has some rest, also Bizzy has no more wee timorous beasties. disturbing her sleep.

The holly trees have already lost their berries. When I mentioned to my daughter that there were flocks of winter thrushes about and the berries would soon be gone she said ,tongue in cheek, 'spray the bushes with canesten. that cures thrush'  image

  • One of our cats used to catch moles from the meadow behind us, and bring them still squeaking through the cat flap into the conservatory to play with - once she lost one and it disappeared - we eventually found it a couple of weeks later when the rainwater gulley under the conservatory tiled floor blocked up image  Moles can obviously get into very small holes image

Just a quick look in to say hiimage

I love the contrast in Pat and Liri's photosimage.  The frost and light fog has stayed with us all day and it's never been above freezing.

    That was 3pm.

Hosta - enjoy that sunshineimage.  I'm going to work hard to catch up but have enjoyed the banter from afar.  Can't remember everything but you kept me sane(ish).

I came home from the SM to see a neighbourhood cat in the drive with a mouse in it's mouth.  I don't mind them coming if they act as pest control.  The do

Oh s.d itimage.  Upside down picture just for you Patimage.  As I was saying the dog just watches the cat through the window and gets all excited.  When we're outside she gives it a very wide berth.  It's one macho catimage.

Just woken from yet another claustraphoboc nightmare!  I could really do without them. It's taken my heart several minutes to get back to normal rhythm. (3am). Thanks for the helpful distracting chatting. Love the upside down photo, Lesley. Thanks. I've kicked off all the bedclothes. That might help.
