Good for you DD - you'll do a marvellous job Good way of getting to know lots of people in slightly different circumstances too.
Love the pictures Pat - are they the ones sometimes called Ghost Gums?
Garden beckons today. Mr C is taking both the Dads to a football match in Southampton, so I am home alone. Going to collect leaves and plant out some foxgloves will need to wrap up warm❄️❄️❄️
my GW calendar arrived too it adorns my desk at work. That, and my ever-flowering streptocarpus, and my pen holder in the shape of a pair of wellies, are clues to my alter-ego
Chicky, glad you liked the photo. Ghost gums are found around central Australia (eg Alice Springs area). Ours are probably E. mannifera. To be absolutely certain I need to see the Gum nuts, flowers and leaves and they're just a bit high () to collect. have a good day without the men.
Morning folks, Not a good one so far. My lie-ins are very precious to me and for some reason I must have set my alarm clock an hour early. Not a happy bunny.
A very bright, sunny day here but it looks cold with frost on the roofs and cars. Nothing particular planned apart from checking on the greenhouse.
Morning - frowostery start but lots of lovely sunshine - the calm before the storm tonight / tomorrow?
Had another normal-Hosta-night - still awake at 3am - think I might try a Nightol for a couple of nights and try to restablish a sensible sleep pattern.
Glad the job is going well Wonky. You must look more like a weeble than a Womble with all those layers.
Congratulations on the presidential election DD - you're certainly the one to get things done but make sure you do some delegation to make it a team effort.
Hope you have a lovely hols Hosta. Are you sure you can't find a secluded corner somewhere where you can avoid getting white bits? It's what we do with spare towels ever ready for a quick cover up if needed.
Lovely pics from Scotland. We're hoping to take the camper on a quick Scottish tour in January to take some nice winter pics. So we'd like a bit of snow on the tops please - but not enough to make driving difficult or dangerous.
Forgotten what everybody else was up to but hope you all have a lovely day. C..mas shopping starts this week - need to make a list so I can go in head down elbows out and just do it

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I've been out and tipped the leaves off the pond netting - the grass is crisp and white and there's frost on the roof of the little greenhouse. I've topped up the bird feeders.
I have a pheasant and some cider to introduce to each other at some stage today, but otherwise nothing much is planned - I'm sure I'll find a way to fill the day
Firstly
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
