I once went to our local French SPA to ask about adopting a rescue dog. They said all their dogs were big and strong and most were there because they kept running away from home and my place wouldn't do because it's not fenced. They said I needed a trainable puppy. So I found Tigger, 8 weeks, nearly 14 years ago. I already had a female Border Collie cross. My dogs have always been Border Collies. Anyway, OH really doesn't want one, not even a little one.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Came here to say I'm going to stay with son, DIL and 2 darling little granddaughters tomorrow, 5 hour drive. Got sidetracked by dogs. OH staying here because of horses and cat.

It's true that dogs are a tie Busy. We try not to go anywhere now that we can't take them too because kennel fees end up costing us a fortune and they really don't like it plus we miss them. We took the cat too. Horses must make things really complicated.
Anyway, have a good time with son and family.
It's very windy here now and noisy with it. I hope everyone is tucked up safe and warm and dry. Be careful out on the roads tomorrow everyone.
Fidget - excellent.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Have a wonderful holiday Hosta - hope you get lots and lots of sunshine (and no Russian neighbours) - pop in with some pics to make us jealous every now and then ☀️???
And enjoy your trip too Lizzie.
Well done on starting the C-shopping GWRS. Is your allotment put to bed now?
Our landrover (very old, but essential for getting us out if it snows .....we live in a ravine) is on its last legs, so Mr C is popping over to Colchester this afternoon to check out a new one. Hope its worth the trip, or he will be grumpy.
Morning, drizzly here again, I think the same all weekend too.
I wish I could have a dog, or even a cat, but until I'm 'settled' I don't feel it is fair and of course it is an expensive commitment which is just too much at the moment.
I have renewed my momentum in buying the house I want for the Salon de Thé, I have an appointment with another estate agent on Monday and have a surveyor coming around with me to discuss the shortcomings and hopefully identify any potential problems. I am hoping if the estate agent sees them pointed out first hand he will be more understanding about any offer I put in. I want to pay 90,000€ and wish I didn't have to play the haggling game, but if I offer 90,000€ will they take it that I will go higher??
Anyway, as well as that I have contacted several business support groups and some networking groups for some help and advice on how to go further with this project and so far have had a good response, time to get my head down and really get stuck into this project. After a second coffee first though.
Enjoy your hols Hosta.
Keep warm everyone.
Oh, by the way the lesson on 'got' went well, thanks for all the input and advice. Next week we are doing clothes, now how do I explain trousers being plural and I don't think I will even mention knickers?

Good morning everyone. Its a bit nippy here. Slight frost, I think. I may get the last of the tulips in today.
Good morning Chicky, Fidget and others to come
Fairly mild here this morning so maybe some leaf clearing later.
Enjoy time with your grand daughters BL.
Good morning all
The weather person has just spoken of possible icy patches on the roads so be careful out there If you're driving this morning.
Its just getting light here - looks a bit blustery.
No real plans for today other than popping up to the farm shop for some food for the weekend. I might get lured into the GC as I pass ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
