    Hi DD,

This might help you "explain" the use of have/have got to your learners: http://www.englishteachermelanie.com/when-to-use-have-got-english-grammar-lesson/

Good morning.  Grey here now but we had an exceptionally clear night between 9pm and bedtime.  Unfortunately, having no streaky clouds meant no interesting pictures but it was certainly very bright out there.   All the dead stalks of the long, dry grass were so silvery in the strong moonlight they looked frosted and when a low ground mist came up it was eerily beautiful.

OH is off for his first golf practice since we arrived so I have had a lie in, reading , cos he brought me coffee and juice.    Cooked breakfast are an occasional weekend treat.   Alcove painting for me and then more sorting and tidying as I finally get to grips with how best to use my kitchen space.

DD - got is a lazy word, mostly used by all those immigrants to America learning a common low denominator of English.  Not their fault but it's stuck through usage.   Possum gtes a metaphorical rap on the knuckles when she says gotten.    Too much Disney in her youf.  Tell your adults it's "argot" and teach them have and must instead so they can relate it to French.  Then they'll "get" it.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

You may need to go in to find him Doveimage

  • He reappeared quite quickly Joyce - I didn't go in - I was right, the garden area and beyond was all trees!!!

We stopped off at Wrose and picked up a few essentials - beer, mushrooms, onions, sprouts and loo rolls - somehow a box of C*mas Crackers and a roll of 'festive' wrapping paper fell into the trolly image

By the way, your package went into today's post - 2nd class - so should be with you by the end of the week. image

I  was with you Hosta in the no sleep club, image  no reason just no sleep....very annoying and now parked in a lay by in Essex somewhere near Beth Chatto  country,  eating parked lunch  and feeling very tired,  could do without a visit from papa wobble immediately after work but I'm sure I will be pleased to see him when he's there,  just missing my bed of I'm honest image

Dove,  don't know why you will need wrapping paper...we agreed no presents this year,  unless you have a party time job as an elf I don't know about?!?

have a good day all ?

More leaves raked & swept, cosmos uprooted, a few things cut back - very frustrating not to be able to get out there and get really stuck in - especially as there are 2 very large piles of compost ready for mulching the beds and a huge pile for shredding. Patience, patience - if it has to wait for the new year it won't be the end of the world - really it won't.

GWRS - I have about 15 logs that need a chain saw on them. Neighbour has offered to do them at the weekend - but if you're passing tomorrow.... image Cup of tea and a jaffa cake in it for youimage

No presents in the Dove household - I wish I thought I could get away with that hereimage
