Wet and windy night with gusts so loud they woke me up at 5am.  Finally dozed off again then turned on Radio 4 after OH announced the result and got bloody cricket!

Went to the weekly covered market in Luçon and found some curly kale - not in SMs here - and hake for dinner then went and had a light lunch out.   No sign anywhere of the French muttering about USA elections which was odd.

Distracting myself from gloom (tho I don't think HC would have been any good either) by sorting and listing my seeds so I know what I have before I buy any more.   Might need a couple of glasses of good wine tonight.

Still windy but not really cold, just draughty and occasionally wet.   I hope everyone is tucked up warm and dry and safe.

Evening all. Feeling as though someone has unplugged me and let my batteries drain down. I think the cold museum, cold house, germ infested children is brewing something.

I got some interesting news of my own this afternoon just before I left work. Things are happening as I predicted and bricks on the jenga pile that is my "exciting new project" starting to become loose. I forsee the jumping of ships ahead.

Just when I thought today could not get any worse, Verdun has called me and my ilk "elite" Bremoaners. It is his way of healing rifts!

I am afraid I am going to lose it big time.

Sorry you are not feeling well Clari.

  • Good to be recognised as being elite tho' Pdoc. Let's enjoy that at least image

Punkdoc, it's just not worth it losing it big time over Verdun. Dove and I were anti-Brexit too so we are all "Elite" together.

Don't let words get you down Punkdoc. We all feel the same about the US election, I think. I can't imagine how it came down to a choice of two such as those. I haven't turned the TV on this morning except for my daily dose of Weather channel for half an hour. image

Ive been losing myself on the Pinterest site looking at Zendoodle patterns and puzzling just how they think of inventing the shapes. It's better than feeling low, which I could easily do. I've also resisted returning to the medication my Doc wants me to take. I hope you have a better night than last night.

Clari, can't wait to hear more details of your news, and Obelixx, interesting about the apparent lack of French reaction to the US rubbish. Makes me think - how do they turn off like that. I'd like to know.

I've been growing Tuscan Kale for the last couple of years and while things quietened down a bit over winter, they've come back with a vengence this spring. Lots of lovely dark green leaves that are only about 4-6" long so far and really delicious.

I've taken the time to read back again and make notes so that I don't forget/ignore some of you.

Yvie, I loved your tale about Mabel. She sounds such a lovely little character. You've reminded me to have a look for photos of cross stitch samplers I made for my grandchildren. They must be put away somewhere safe.

Dove, I'm glad you've worked out how to get back to your tennis without pulling your shoulder again. You must be really pleased.

Topbord, I'd love to see photos on your new landscaped area. Sound as though you've got a bit of planting and planning ahead. Such fun.

Fidget, your walk by the river sounds very relaxing. We used to walk down by our river (it forms the eastern border of our property), but it's lost its charm since Hubby got bitten by a snake several years ago down there. I stay up the hill now. I suppose we could get back into the habit in winter while they are still snuggled in their holes.  Might put it on the calendar for next winter. I've not tried that style of beef either, but it's spoken about often on the various cooking shows.

Lesley, our weather is certainly warming up and we actually got 1.5mm of rain last night - accompanied by thunder. first rain for weeks. I'm planning on digging some holes for tomato plants today. They need to come out of the GH.

sorry if I've missed anyone. Hope Wonky continues to enjoy the job.
