Oh Hosta not good. I've not had a hypo for years; they're evil things. God bless strawberry jam.

Well my lost in transit van 25kg of meat is..  lost. But Parcelforce hope to have it here tomorrow. Whether it'll be any good or not I don't know but it's their van that will stink with all that tripe and offal not mine!

I am so grateful for twitter being able to contact Parcelforce directly. The food company has been completely radio silence while I tried to request help from them via phone and email.

  • I'd missed the headline, but I must admit some of the tweets that came out of it were brilliant... Apparently the 'journalist' who wrote the article has also referred to Elliot Spencer as Stephen Fry's 'husband' (in inverted commas). Can't we stay in the EU and just set up Bigotland for all these people to go and live out their tiny lives. Please?

And I'm home image  Nice day spent with son - haven't really spent much time together since Ma's funeral - so good to have a catch up image

I just love the way the Hitler loving daily Hate Mail never lets us down. Rotten to the core.

Finished moving this weeks woodchippings and I've marked out the resting position for " The Rock" just before the rain arrived, Whew.

I've been wracking my brain, trying to come up with some place where we could put all the "Daily Mailers" and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

    Suggestions welcome.

In other news, bitterly cold, no gardening got done and dinner is going to be a take-away curry.

How can you lie there and think of England

  • The problem with the Mail and other newspapers which are, at the least, very biased, is that they influence people.  They distort truth, eg in describing yesterday's High Court judgement in inflammatory terms as an assault on democracy.  They incite hatred - ok, not in so many words, but that description of the High Court judge was intended to have that effect.  They are in no way balanced, thoughtful publications giving the reader the opportunity to make up his or her own mind.  No, I don't read the Mail and never would, but its distortion of truth makes the world a less safe place.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Back from the North Norfolk coast. We went to see my mother's youngest first cousin, who I like.

On the way we stopped off at a CG, bought some small perfumed daffodils I'd never heard of. Also went to the farm shop that Dove has mentioned and met her lovely hub there. Bought a pheasant, haven't had one for ages, also a lovely fillet of Sea Bass, much cheaper than in France, and lots of veg. Pheasant for tomorrow, fish tonight and veg for Sunday lunch when friends are coming. There wasn't enough lamb so I'll go to the village butcher tomorrow.

Glad you had a good day with son, Dove.

Have to admit I sometimes read the Daily Mail and agree with Verdun about it's being better than the Daily Mirror. But read the Telegraph more often.

Lord Rothermere, the owner of a certain newspaper was a personal friend of Hitler and they ran the front page headline " hurrah for the blackshirts"

They openly supported him and have neither retracted that support not apologised for it.

    I'm saying no more .
