I've given up watching Question Time most weeks Pdoc - I used to watch it religiously (well, not religiously, but you know what I mean) ... and listen to Any Questions and Any Answers and was a paid up and active member of a political party and knew a few politicians and political secretaries etc (and a former Cabinet Member, but not of my party!) - these days I listen to the Today programme on R4 and read the Indie and a couple of broadsheets, usually online, and that's enough for my stress levels.
Son is hugely interested in European and American Political History and Current Affairs and is incredibly well informed - a discussion with him is totally exhausting. Not sure his interest is that good for his stress levels either

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Maybe it's something to do with increasing age (and/or wisdom??) that makes us stressed rather than excited by politics. Current affairs programmes strictly rationed in this house. We read "The Week" because it has a balance of views from all sides, and listen to Today on R4, and that's enough.
Sorry - hello everyone!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Didn't realise there were so many Today programme listeners (makes my commute almost bearable) .. Can I just say that Nick Clegg made more sense this morning than I have heard for a long time .. to coin an old catchphrase, I'm with Nick
Sat in the garden and it's gloriously sunny! Leafs have been swept up and thrown in an empty compost bin, I'm considering hacking the nettles back next or perhaps tidying up the pond plants.
Or maybe I'll just sit in the greenhouse and roast my joints whole the plumbers rip out the central heating.

Morning all.
Rain here this morning. Parish mag says we've had the driest October since 1975.
Bargains in Waitrose last night. Sirloin steak medallions: £1 and free range chicken thighs 75P , down from £6.99.
I too have given up on Question Time. I could never sleep after it ( no change there )
Moving agapanthus into the polytunnel this morning before the frosts arrive this weekend.
Almost the weekend folks.

Clari, I hope your new heating is going in soon. Can't have you living in the greenhouse
Joyce: the heating relies on the plasterer who relies on his lordship tweaking the bits he needs to do....
We could be waiting some time.
Clari - train Reggie to sit and shiver. . . that might speed things up
It's trying to snow here, they didn't tell me that was going to happen.
