Fidget - Why the bulldozer? Has it had babies? My Kiftsgate did and I dug one up for me and one for Marie-Christine. I just hope the new owners don't hack the big one back before it flowers next June as it was finally starting to cover the brick façade after being frozen back to one short stem in January 2009.
Must keep an eye out for a glauca.
Have found lots of treasures in my seed collection so I'm a happy bunny. It remains to be seen how many are viable. Was about to order from two seed companies when I remembered my old box and reckon I've saved a pretty penny to spend on live plants. Just need to persuade OH about my financial reasoning.......
Yvie - no tea or crooked fingers but we dod use bone china mugs for our coffee - manly handled Union Jack jobbies for OH (sold in a Belgian supermarket for London Olympics year) and RHS fruit mugs for me. Mabel sounds lovely.
Pdoc - maybe forget to take the cheque book and credit cards?

Morning all - cold, and wet here But on a positive note - no turf watering required - every cloud etc
Sorry you are feeling a bit low DD. It sounds as though you realise that weathering the lows after such a momentous year is all a part of navigating through to the highs. Hopefully, by this time next year the upset will be behind you & you will have a much clearer idea of how things will pan out long term. Meantime you just need to keep muttering "This too will pass..."
Good luck at the hearing centre Yvie. Little Mabel sounds delightful - my niece was much the same at that age. At the age of 3 she told me she would stop pestering me (her words) for sweeties if I bought her a comic instead... Maybe we should put 3 year olds in charge of international negotiations
Dove - Chapelfields is much nicer than Meadowhell - much smaller for one thing.
Right - I need to put on some warm clothes and think about raking up leaves. Secretly quite enjoy that job
Love from Topbird - another member who has been attacked in the past (by a certain contributor) for perceived 'elitist comments'. Didn't rise to the bait then - but just wanted to let others know they are not alone and it's far from being the first time...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Raisingirl - I've not seen Saving Mr Banks - I would have liked to, but tend to go to sleep in cinemas nowadays - think it's something to do with my thyroid even tho' I'm well medicated I still drop off when in the warm and dark. I'll have to keep an eye open for it on the tv. I did read about it when it was released and thought it sounded like a good 'un.
Fidget - much as I'd love it, (and I really would) I don't have the acreage for a rose on that scale
Hosta has vast acres, but not sure if he's got a site for that ...

A load of smalls (and not so smalls) to drape on horses here Hosta, while you're about it ... I'll roast some butternut squash to make some soup while you do that

Dove - not been to the cinema in a long time. The seats are uncomfortable, I end up eating far too much stuff made of sugar and they don't let the dogs in. Last time I went was I think when I took my parents to see Mamma Mia
I get films on dvd when they hit the £4 or less mark. So I watched it - sweet film, won't change your life, might make you smile (did me) although the underlying story is rather sad actually. But the point really was there are a few places where that suffocating 'Disney-ness' is very succinctly portrayed, without being at all snooty about it. I thought they judged it quite well (although others have said it's very kind to Walt - I wouldn't know).
My MIL once looked askance at a very small washing machine, then looked at me and said "well I suppose I could just about get my smalls in there. Doubt yours would fit though".
Uncalled for, I thought

Sounds like your MIL and my late Ma were cut from the same cloth. Ma once said to me 'you don't eat as much as you'd think, from looking at you'
