    Morning all, afternoon Pat image

I hope everyone is well, my body clock has had me up at my usual rising for work time image and I've been getting the washing draped over airers due to persistent drizzle.

I've been wondering where Fairy is too Dove....image up a mountain somewhere?

Clari, if Reggie's food is off by the time it gets to him, feed him the driver! image

Not talking politics or media...I've enforced a watching the news ban on myself, I read the news from impartial perspectives and can choose which bits I want to take in...I despair for the world....its bonkers! image

Well first week completed at new job....I've mastered the two meter long petrol hedge trimmer but have woken with pins and needles after using it all yesterday. I've driven a tipper truck for the first time after only passing my driving test this year and am used to a Clio! image I'm the proud owner of black and pink steel toe cap trainers...my trousers are the smallest they could get, are up to my cheast with turn ups and a million pockets......life's an adventure!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, it will be nice to be able to dip in and see what your all up to later, have a great one folks image

    HIya Wonky.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed your first week. What projects have you been working on? if I may ask.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to see those trainers.

I remember when I left school at 16   and went to work at a garden centre and they let me drive a big ,proper , full sized tractor ( private land, no need for a licence ). I didn't realise just how easy it was to "wheelie" one , until I did it.image

  • Wonky - have they given you some anti-vibration gloves to wear when using the hedge trimmer?

Hosta, do you think they'd be helpful?  Maybe she'd better ask Father Christmas for some ...

Mornignfg Hosta image think the other chaps have a bit of secret envy about my trainers! It was just like pretty woman....we were given the company card and the lads were told to " kit her out chaps!" image

We maintain social housing and residential home grounds generally, all over Suffolk. A lot of spikey shrubs, lawn mowing, pruning, planting and barking on a very large scale! We've winter projects to get on with also. Daft arrangement though as the developers chose the plants, know nothing about them and then you have to go along and change it all because they don't know about plants image but what do us grunts know! image

How's the new van Hosta? I love the idea of your log store! image

I've never even heard of them Dove, but I do know if I'd been using a hedge trimmertrimmer/chain saw s all day, my hands used to ache.

I'd certainly be interested to find out about them.

Dove, I've never heard of those! Sound good! They have had to order me little gloves as I look like a puppeteer with their standard chaps ones! So im using my own at the moment...think im a bit of an unique situation for them! image

  • Well, you're definitely a 'one off' Wonky ............. always have been ((hugs)) image

Papa Womble should've used anti-vibration gloves when using angle grinders etc, but of course he's a big tough man and didn't need such things ... and then he got carpel tunnel problems image

Wonky, have you tried those cheap cotton gloves worn inside bigger gloves? Might help and they're nice and easy to dry off if they get wet.

That's true on both counts Dove! But remember I developed carpel tunnel from editing my dissertation using the mouse wheel! image but preventative measures are always a bonus!

Its certainly different Joyce! image I do enjoy working outside!
