Tesco are saying that quite a few of the Unilever items whose prices are being raised are actually manufactured in the UK - apparently the Tesco chief used to work for Unilever so he will have a lot of knowledge re their manufacturing ... my guess is that because of this Tesco are leading the bargaining for most of the major supermarkets.

Serves me right for not checking the spelling before the 'post reply 'button. First word was "haven't" and later snug in bed, not sung in bed. Der !!!
its all happening over there with you lot. DD, you sound SO confident. I really admire what you are doing and planning, isn't your ex helping with finance at all? I vaguely remember going through similar steps in the early 70s The main difference was that I had a secure office job, and two little girls dependent on me. Oh didn't help with any maintenance payments at all Even though he was ordered to by the courts. Bad memories, best buried, which I think I've almost done. My very strongest best wishes being sent through the air waves to you. Brave girl.
Clari, Obelixx and Busy I keep getting it all mixed up in my mind, but it's lovely to hear how you're all getting on.
ive been trying to get the papers together for tax time because the deadline is the end of October. While digging through boxes etc, came across an envelope of photos that Susan had sent to me after she had her baby . First photo of her lying in hospital bed with the new babe in her arms. Another of her feeding him. More of baby with her husbands family, etc. I haven't seen those photos for a few years, so it was a bit of a shock. The anniversary of her death will be on Monday, so it seemed a strange coincidence to find them just now. Do you believe they are still up there watching us and making things happen? I'm never sure what to believe. We went through a lot together. Had the miseries a bit this afternoon, but have shaken it off now. Watching those Long Lost Family episodes tonight makes me realise what we had - more than some who missed their childhood connections with parents.
anyway, enough of that. I'm in bed and planning on getting some sleep in.
We have just been for a drive along some country roads. . . so many trees have brown, shrivelled up leaves that I think we'll miss at lot of autumn colour.
Lot of it about Joyce and a complete waste of time. Leaves here are still green with some turning yellow and one or two gorgeous red trees which look like liquidambar. However, many trees are just dropping green leaves as it is so very dry.
OH is watching a recording of the Apprentice - more willy waving from people with over-inflated egos - so I'm off to the kitchen to soak my feet and spruce them up for another new dance class this evening. We think this one will be much more serious than Monday's.

Autumn colour is coming out here, despite the drought. I've just been to see an elderly lady friend in a home and the drive was cross country, starting to look lovely.
Pat, when there are co-incidences like that I sometimes wonder if they are looking down on us too!
What's happening at York Minster? We will be there is about 3 weeks. Shall ask Google.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Yes Dove - sounds like lots of energetic posturing and willy waving to me. Prices are going to go up regardless.
Now there are silly B's at York Minster too. Whatever next?
Pat E hope you have a good sleep. Lots on your mind.
