I too amm up before daylight for a plumber who's coming to fix a leaky bathroom basin.  The water just flows down the hole and into the cupboard below so a bit disfunctional.

It's very misty so I have no idea what sort of day we'll have but pot shopping and maybe some more bulbs are on my list of things to do while I gear my brain up to get cracking on some painting.

Pat - your visitors need training.  OH too so he leaves broccoli and co out for awhile when cooking.

Yes please.  I haven't been up this early since we moved here.  Been getting up when we wake up with the sun so needed my radio alarm and Radio 4 is so crackly it sounded like a ruddy Test match before it became intelligible.

Plumber happily fixing basin and changing tap but I have to wait till January for him to move the whole shebang as I'd like so we stop banging heads on the handy beam.

Misty here too but that means moisture for the plants still in leaf and since we've had no rain since early August, it's needed..

    Hi all.

    Very foggy here.

Not me LP, but I know David fairly well, he spends a lot of time in Syria and is a remarkable man.

Sorry Topbird, got distracted ... looks like arrivals at Norwich are running on time at the moment, and the fog has certainly lifted - just low cloud now.

    Tea is also available image

Pdoc - the item re Syria on the Today programme was heartbreaking.

Haven't had time to absorb news today.  That extra coffee worked a treat and I now have a repaired bathroom basin with a shiny new tap and drip free plug but he can't come and move the basin unit till early Jan cos he's busy busy.   He has tho got the radiators working.  Seems the system was drowning cos the expansion vessel was flooded.   New CH doctor booked for 10/11, locksmith tomorrow pm and chimney sweep for the two wood burners will call back when he's not up a roof.

I hope the fog is clearing for all those driving or trying to garden.

Hosta you really know how to make us laugh (in a rueful sort of way, I might add). did you go back to bed after your expedition?

Obelixx, I don't know how you stand the delays. I'd be yelling, I think.

Well, our adventures for the day have just slowed down (11pm). It started when Hubby was waiting in the car while I took HRH in for grooming, just before I took him to the chiro. Mobile call from our friends to say they were 2 hours away (just before 11am) and where were we.  Since he is usually in there for an hour or so, and it depends on how many people are being attended to, he suggested they meet us at the Turkish takeaway when they got to town. I then dropped him off, did my usual run around of shopping and collected him  hour later. Phone rang again, they were about 20 minutes away. We went to the Turkish to wait, and there was a note on the door saying they were closed for the day. image Is this story getting interesting or boring!  Hubby then called them and asked them to just go to the house and we'd go there when I'd  picked HRH up from the pet shop.

They were waiting on the front veranda when we got home . So, after lots of food and cups of tea and TV viewing and chatting I'm finished for the day. Oh yes, and Julie and I made the bed before we sat down for the afternoon.  I asked her when they have to leave for the next stage of their holiday which they have a reservation for and was told Tuesday. Hmmm.

    night all.
