Funny you should say that - I'm the only sensible one at my work too..  image

Glad you're in and getting organised obelixx. I like to get everything unpacked as soon as possible. I hate looking at random boxes 6 months down the line! You'll have all winter to 'plan' the outside space too. Lovely   image

Work beckons. WIll catch you all later. Have a good day  image

Morning all / afternoon Pat image

    Much cooler this morning.

The squirrel is sitting on the fence with it's tail over it's body to keep warm.

    Morning all.

grey and breezy and very chilly.

Hubby in the shop today and I have to send off my passport for renewal.

Friend stuck in Florida , flight home cancelled.

Fairy, that house derives  a lot of its heat from ground source which is why it's set into the hillside.

Finishing the path near " The Rock" then I'll work out how I'm going to move it this winter. It's gonna move!!!!

Morning all.  Bright and sunny here again but a very fresh breeze blowing.  I need to unpack some warmer clothes but we'll get to 16C later on.

This morning we're off to collect 3 big wooden compost bins from the local council.  30€ each and flat pack but they should set us up for some good composting for the new veggie plot.   Our neighbours have horses and want to know if they can put them in our paddock - gladly - so I'll be getting horse muck too.

Other than that - more unpacking and sorting every day till it's done.  We've decided mornings have to be unpacking and pms are free to unpack/sort/think or go out as we please so it doesn't all become overwhelming.    We've been and bought a whirlygig so we can hang washing out to dry.   Couldn't do that in the Belgian house as it either was blown away, rained on or decorated by the birds.

Need to train the local birds to come to feeders which will be well away from the washing.  I think we have some sort of redstart and there are brown thrush-like jobbies and owls and a few sparrows and tits.   We'll get to know them all in time.  The swallows have long gone but should be back next year.

Hope everyone's having a good day and gearing up for a great weekend.

Hosta - I will add my power, from afar, for the repositioning of the aesthetic rock image

Obelixx - how lovely to have horses in your paddock.

With winter coming, I'm sure the birds will soon find their way to bird feeders. Can you site them where you will be able to watch and identify the birds?

Pleased it all seems to be going well, Obelixx. Your place sounds lovely.

Our first frost this morning, but not enough to blacken the dahlias. -2°

We are going to a barn dance this evening, organised by English people. I used to love them in our English village years ago. But I was young and fit then!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
