Morning all.  Not a lot of sleep last night - awake till 5 struggling with churning brain and occasional cramps.   Zombie mode today but at least it's bright and sunny for when I do wake up properly.

I put the sprinkler on the front grass last night - the only bit that looks like grass and not hay - so I could plant my new autumn and spring crocuses in it.  OH will be thrilled as that means the mowing ban will be extended.   He's on a shopping mission today with a huge list for her and me - she wants clothes and household supplies.  I want new collars for the dogs, some particular light fittings I haven't found here, sherry and my NZ Nobilo wine with screw caps to tide me over while I figure out French stuff.

We never did get in to the whole business of needing to know terroir/grape varieties/weather conditions/socks worn when treading grapes/wood used for maturing barrels palaver so have little experience with 99.9% of French wines.   We like our wine consistent and reliable from one year to the next so have a lot of "research" to do.  That'll be fun..

Liri - a month on Scotland - pack several layers of thermals and enjoy!

Pat - sounds like you're coping well.

    I need more coffee.

Yes, not too bad Obelixx. Luckily, Hubby really likes to cook. image

  • Fidget - I'm in North Devon so sadly Barnsdale a bit of a trek for me, even though I would absolutely love to see it in the flesh. But I would be really keen to meet up with other Forkers for garden visits nearer home. RHS Rosemoor is only 25 minutes from me...

  • Morning all,

I've nothing interesting to say either sadly but I've enjoyed reading back. Feeling a bit low,. Charlie away for the weekend with Daddy, only fair I had him last week but it does leave a void. However, I went running with the club last night ( heartbeat tested and found to be in excellent working order ? ) I caught up with The Missing and today I'm getting all my jobs done so I can relax and watch SCD in my nearly purple dressing gown. ? Jogging Club tomorrow morning, committee meeting in the afternoon and Halloween Party Planning in-between so no time for moping and feeling sorry for myself. ?

I might get all my pots and tubs from the B&b today too, it's a nice day, the exercise will be good and ex not there breathing down my neck to check what I'm taking, not that he even knows what they are. I might go and get some cheap bulbs to put in them too, need to feel like a gardener again.

Very difficult holding back on this house negotiation but I think they need another week to think they've lost a sale. So hard to be a hard bargainer. ?

So, good wishes to all, thinking of you all, have good day and push all negative thoughts about winter and cold and family disputes away for now. ?

Enjoy the weekend DD - take advantage of the quiet to do little things just for you ((hugs)) and try not to worry image

I've got the venison cooking gently in the oven and some rough puff pastry resting in the fridge.  Later on I will combine the two image

Interestingly the venison cost about the same as the shin of beef I used for a casserole last week.

Excellent opportunity for a pot raid DD.  Go for it.   It must be hard missing Charlie but potting and pottering are good distractions.

Lovely sunshine and getting very warm so I shall gather up my weary limbs and take the dogs out.

Can any of you who grow clematis please have a gander at my new thread?  Need some feedback on varieties.  Ta.

Afternoon folks, beautifully mild and sunny here image been having a tidy in the garden.

Finally got my crocus in pots Fairy! imageimage rescued some wall flower seedlings as Dove tells me that they are the pretty Sarah Raven ones and she'd like some back! image

Other than that I've basically been moving mess to other messy parts of the garden that are more tucked away, then sitting in the sunshine with a coffee thinking "ahhhh....that looks better!" And patting myself on the back! imageimage

Enjoy your pot raid DD! Stuff them to the brim with spring bulbs!!!image
