According to OH it's 'cos I've spent the summer in the garden not associating with the hoi polloi, then got breathed on by the physio's receptionist who was snuffling and sneezing
Anyway, I have been provided with some entertainment - two large vans emblazoned with the National Grid logo have arrived and cones/barriers/sandbags and signs etc have been off-loaded onto the pavement in front of our house. The opposite side of the street is being coned off - I don't think there's enough space to reverse my car out of our driveway but I'm not going anywhere today so what the heck
It will be fun watching the parents wondering where to abandon their cars when it's time to pick their children up from the school at the top of the hill - normally the lazier of them park higgledy-piggledy along this road ... watch this space ... or rather, that space

Hello all. Am sat using a hotspot at a supermarket at Luçon so haven't read back far. Get our own connection next Tuesday if all goes well. We arrived just after midnight on Saturday after a 10 hour schlepp including doggie pitstops. OH very stressed by the end so we've "forgotten" a box of bathroom essentials. The neighbours will bring them when they head this way in 3 weeks' time.
Furniture and other goodies arrive tomorrow - 2 trucks and a trailer for the plants. Hosepipe is ready connected for watering.
Bright and sunny here. We have lots of wee cyclamen naturalising at the feet of some sort of prunus which I have crown-lifted to let them have more sun and rain. Some tiny golden yellow crocus jobbies near the terrace. Monty had some on his bench when he was planting those stone plants a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas? Two dwarf conifers dead in teh drought and another dying which will make removing them easier - must have heard me saying I didn't want them. Baby clem doing well.
Doggies and cat settling down well and we've been visted by a young, purry, cuddly ginger mog. Scarpered when he saw Bonzo Dog.
Sorry about Tigger Busy. Hope you're better soon Dove and anyone else with sniffles of hurties.

Hello again. I've checked in a few times, but glued to TV, colouring and knitting. Hubby made a vegetarian pasta for dinner tonight (grilled red capsicum, tomato, onion etc). Was enjoyed by both of us,
HRH has just eaten a good sized meal and is acting a bit more perky. Since it's already after midnight, I'm hoping we can get an undisturbed night. We're both a bit washed out from last night's effort.
Glad Obelixx is getting sorted and I hope all sick people feel better soon.
Electrc blanket on, and ready for sleep. Night all.
Glad to know you have your priorities sorted obelixx. . . . hosepipe at the ready for plants coming off the trailer and a small tweak to the garden to show off the cyclamen.
A busy few days unpacking ahead then. . . garden here we come!
Glad you got your 'flitting' done successfully, obelixx. Decent weather helps enormously
Don't want to know what RB is doing with an angle grinder...I'll keep well back just in case....
Beautiful day here. Could have done with this week off - weather looking quite steady for now, and I could have got a fair bit of turf lifted and slabs shifted.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Evening all, morning Pat, glad HRH is feeling a bit brighter, hope you got some sleep!
Good to see you popping in Obelixx, glad its going well, plant priority! bathroom things can wait! Hope it continues to go smoothly and you feel settled in no time!
Fidget, I had to give a months notice and as Dove rightly said, I'm not due any holiday as I used most of it for driving lessons earlier in the year so just have to stick it out. I had to give my part time gardening job notice on Saturday also which is a shame as I love it but I will keep doing the odd Saturday, just not all of them! hope the new bulbs find homes, I'm having the same trouble with 40 cream crocus
Dove, I hope your feeling better soon, under gardener is more than capable and also bribeable I believe if you dangle beer and ice cream!
Clari, hope your feeling better too, bet Reggie is a splendid nurse!
Beautiful picture Fairy, could I get you to wear my pedometer next time? or is that cheating
Memory fails and dinner needs cooking, have a great evening folks

It's probably down to age RB and not our healthy lifestyles

I love cream crocus Wonks - sling them up here along with your pedometer....
They look good in a big pot if you have one. 40 would be nice in something about 10 or 12 inches.
