Fat Rascals are sweet aren't they? Sugar and fruit and candied peel and a glacé cherry on top?
Never had one either. When I was at Harlow Carr, just the once, and having a treat in Betty's I was beguiled by a fabulous sticky ginger cake with lemony bits. Delia has a recipe that comes close.
I was very naughty yesterday and rustled p a quick bread and butter pudding using brioche - a local specialty - and home-made Oxford marmalade. Yum yum but need to think a bit thinner and more healthy for a few days now.
Looks like Philip Green might have a knighthood going spare soon. Good. I hope the campaign builds. Scandalous what's happened to BHS pensions.

Oberlix, fat rascals , have stayed in Harrogate several times in past and it seems to be a cross between a scone & rock cake with the cherry on top but I don't remembe them bring that sweet
Couldn't agree more. Isn't it interesting how the sum he siphoned off into his wife's bank account pretty much matched the amount lost in the pension fund.....disgusting excuse for a human being. Why isn't he already in jail anyway?
Was it the nectar of the gods, doc?
I know a few fat rascals...oh, I see what you mean....
Survived Ikea. Just need to lie down in a darkened room for a while....
On a different tack - I looked at the winning photos of the wildlife photographer of the year online. The pic of the owl by Mats Andersson made me cry like a baby. Silly old mare....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
