Decaf for me as it's after midday. Really need my sleep at the mo.
Haven't had brisket since before we left the UK so more than 25 years. Prefer my beef rare but wouldn't mind a go at salted beef for pastrami butties. Roast chuck for us tomorrow and sausages today. S'pose I ought to think of something for lunch but I'm busy with boxes and wardrobes.......

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Ooooh I love rare beef Obelix - but this piece of brisket reduced to a fiver was too much of a bargain to pass up, and as I said, it'll not need looking after if we go out.
We're having breaded pork escalopes today - I'll make a sort of 'slaw' with carrot, celeriac, apple and cabbage to go with them.
Hello Pam - not seen you around lately - or haven't I been looking properly?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Didn't see brisket in Belgium and haven't looked here yet. Do love a good, crunchy slaw.
Lentil soup for lunch, made with some of the Jewish penicillin chicken. Delish, but I do need to find a source of proper wholemeal bread. Have tried 4 different "multi-céréales" here and all are far too light in texture. Good excuse to try more bakers and their other delights.
There have been metaphorical tears. Emboldened by his success with the shoe organiser which, I point out, rests its weight on its own feet so only attached to wall for security, OH went on to put up a pine shelf jobby complete with hooks below and a rail for hangers. This plasterboard had stone wall behind it...... Change bits. All fine till he put stuff on it. 2 mins later all on the floor. Now he understands about plasterboard and correct rawl plugs. DIY store on Monday then
Just as well really as he also put it at a height that meant it blocked the control panel to the central heating boiler...............At least he used a spirit level this time..

Good morning all,
Heavy rain and a bit of thunder too.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you Hosta to make sure your hogs haven't made a home under your bonfire.
Before I knew any better I used to set fire to the pampas grass in the spring. I didn't see any bodies but I've felt guilty ever since.

OH might let you take over on Monday Obelixx. If you want a job done properly. . . . .
Washing out but no breeze to get it dry.
Cooking for the freezer. . . large beef casserole and a chicken casserole. . . winter food.
DIY - you have obviously always made it look so simple in the past - he thinks any fool can do it

Exactly. He's even organised my tools for his use. Delusional or what? I shall have to hide the jigsaw, mitre saw and router when I find them again.
Well, perhaps Santa will bring him some of his own?
