    Morningimage

Just catching up......wonderful sunrise picture Fairy and great news on embryonic tearoom DD.  Went on a camping holiday to les sables d'ollonne when I was about 14 Ob ....I remember those sands (plus, are there natural salt pans somewhere near, or am I mixing up my holiday memories?image).  Enjoy the relly-visit GW.

Work is mad busy at the moment - not leaving time for much elseimage.  Best get going .....

Monty just put on Twitter that he's filming his last GW programme of the year. Shame the producers think nothing happens in the cooler months it feels far too early in the season for me.

Today I am hoping to drag his lordship to the seaside. Because we WERE meant to be on holiday this week; something that is a bit of a rarity. So even though the house needs our attention a day involving eating fish and chips on a wind swept beach beckons!

Morning all/afties Pat. In answer to your question - no, we didn't try turning the puzzles. That's a bridge too far for me! I did one last night of the burn from my walk  on Sunday. It was quite tricky  image

Dull and damp here today - back to the norm. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. image

Enjoy your windy fish and chips Clari. At least it won't have plaster dust in it....image

I'm very lucky Lantana. I don't take it for granted, even when I have the long drive home after a walk.

Looking forward to some  photos too obelixx. Your new surroundings sound beautiful.

I'll have a quick catch up here before I head off to t'mill.

Have a good day everyone image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Beautiful sunrise this morning bit chilly but looks like it's going to be a fine day.

Had a few hours at the garden centre yesterday spent lots image on pots bulbs and plants to try and cheer up the terrace during the winter and spring. So will spend the day in the potting shed planting it all up.

Have a good day all hope those that are feeling poorly feel better soon keep snug and drink lots image

Thanks for the new puzzles, Fairy. I enjoyed all of them. Any cake left?  Yum, yum. I suppose it'd be very stale by the time I got it though. ?image

Re  Last GW of the year. image Surely there must be something gardening wise to fill a slot once a week, even if it's only gardens we have visited.  The national collection holders would be a start.  Follow that with National garden scheme openers.   A rerun of how to propagate plants for free.  Any other ideas? I probably should start a new thread on this.

    Things to do in Winter...

Well the garden has yet to be put to bed. Dahlias are still flowering, I don't lift until after first frost. Leaves seem to drop off the leaves later and later. Our brown bin collection stops far too early also. I don't bin grass cuttings or prunings, but anything diseased goes in and tap roots. Neighbours who don't compost, have a bin full of grass cuttings going slimy until spring.

The road sweeper came around yesterday. The bin men came this morning. Bits blowing around again.image

The American presidential election seems to have degenerated into who has the least mud stick. I have no idea what their policies are. I don't get a vote, but my friends three children were all born there, currently living there, and are as confused as anyone else.  Do they vote for the one they hate the least.  Why isn't there a box on polling cards to say "None of the above". At least we have monster raving loony party if you want to cast a protest vote.

I think the danger is that Trump is seen as the protest vote against the political establishment and the elite - and there's a lot of people who want to protest against that. Sadly there are others who are riled by the sight of a black president in the White House and will vote for Trump to protest against that. He is hoovering up every feeling of insecurity and disatisfaction and pressing its buttons to make it worse. He says he will stop this, that and the other, but he never says how. He's a danger to America as a candidate and will be a danger to the world as a president. However did it come to this? image

    Morning all.

Wise words ,as ever , Dove. My dislike of pretty much all things usa is longstanding, but  they really are scraping the barrel now.

Coal face at 12 so after a pretty heavy day yesterday,a rubbish night and aches this morning , methinks a quiet couple of hours is all I'll manage before work.

Lovely day with haze just burning off.

    Devon.
