Welcome back Topbird. I was without Internet too some of the time you were. Tree blew down on the line.

I hope the plumber's visit is a positive one, DD.

I've been to a gardening club meeting this evening, last one until spring.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Yvie, it would take more than candlelight to help me. image

Anyway, had a good night's sleep after on again, off again, period.

Noticed today that one of our water tanks (a small one about 50 gals I think from memory) had blown over. I havent used that tank since autumn, so didn't realise it must have been low on water.  Hubby has been up there on the hill to set it back on its bottom and gone down to the bore switch to pump more water up there. It would take a strong wind to move it when its full.image

the temp in the GH was zero when I checked this morning, but it's over 30c in there now. Have kept the door closed because of yesterday's wind.Didnt want it to take off like a hot air balloon. Ive got tomato plants in pots which are really needing to go outside, but I can't risk it until the night temps get a bit warmer. It's such a nuisance having to guess.  The stone fruit trees in the orchard are all flowering, but my experience is that if we get a late frosr, none will set viable fruit.

I decided to sow some seeds in punnets  to get them started. Lettuce, tomato, basil and dill. I'll put them on the eastern veranda in an Aldi tray with lid to get them off to a good start. It'll probably be 2 weeks before they do much, though.

HRH is acting very vigorously. I went back to my old recipe of rice, chicken, carrot, celery and chilli. She wolfed the lot down. image Wish I had a smiley for shaking head.  Anyway, so long as she prefers my home cooking to the canned stuff, that's easy to do.

Welcome back Tbird - you were missedimage.  Stay strong DD - you are making such progress, even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes.  Hope the plumber brings good news. Glad HRH is looking brighter too.

Off work today - driving littlest Chicklet to Bristol for a Uni open day.  Don"t know Bristol very well, so hoping its funimage

Morning all/afties Pat. Dog seems happy enough - how are you keeping these days? image

A day off chicky? How very dare you image

DD - it's all progress. You'll have days when it seems difficult again, and a bit like I was on Sunday on that hill - one step forward and about three back - but it's like the old question of how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time...  image

Chilly here but dry and bright. The girl on the Scottish news has a lovely rising sun behind her   image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Good morning all image

A beautiful morning out there. I've got a physio appt this morning but hopefully I'll get into the garden this afternoon.

Have a good trip Chicky. I like what I've seen of the Bristol area and the Uni has a really good reputation among students I know. Exciting times!

Chicky, Happy Marion might have helpful comments for you about Bristol. She's lovely and very proud of the area, including the bot gardens there.image

Pat; Reggie only eats home made meals- best thing we ever did for him! Even his treats are home made; it's funny watching him turn his nose up at dog treats other owners offer him.

We have achieved a status of BUILDERS WITH TOOLS!  Actually knocking down even more of the house!

Morning - lovely sunny day here. Lots of things to do in the house first but I hope to get an hour or two outside this afternoon. Will go and pick tomatoes, raspberries & apples at the very least.

Fairy - one step up and three back is how I usually feel when trying to climb hills. You must be very fit from all the walking you do. Lovely pic from the other day BTW.image

Hope the physio goes well Dove. OH had a couple of weeks off work with the same sort of thing just before our holiday. He's still struggling but I can't get him to do any proper exercises - typical bloke!

Safe journey to Bristol Chicky - Clifton is a very nice area to wander around - lots of chi-chi little shops.

Glad HRH is picking up Pat.

    Must get on....

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
