Also caught a good bit of Johnnie Walker's chat with John Lodge of The Moody Blues and he played Blue Guitar from the lovely album he did with Justin Hayward. Heaven
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hosta!!! Mind that knee .......... and the other one!!!!!!!!!!
I've started a thread for our day at Bressingham - sorry that a few of the photos are a bit blurry - a few raindrops got on the lens - but I think you can see the wonderful colours and textures.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hello , last week's visitors brought there new dog , a Collie puppy 5 months old ,called Poppy , well behaved, had a long walk & she was worn out , did a few wees on lawn , a few patches any advice ?
Evening all, just about ready for bed (with book club book, bit of a toughie, Wild Swans, harrowing but well written). Mixed day, lazed about for a bit but conscience pricked so did get 40 lengths in and thoroughly washed the car, inside & out. .
Really enjoyed my beef stew and rice pudding, did it on the hob too, first time ever, but time dictated and it was actually ok. Sultanas and prunes in it with cinnamon, yummy, loads left for tomorrow too. Loved SCD, what a nice family show. I know it's probably all tosh but I always come away with a nice warm feeling.
Ok, good night all. ?

Evening all, Sounds like everyone has had a busy day. I managed to get a few things done in the garden, the daffs have been planted and I've potted up a few hollyhocks for next year.
I've also been looking at plant porn and have ordered a couple of Acer Palmatums (Shaina and Wilson's Pink Dwarf) and a couple of Cornus Midwinter Fire. The acers will be planted in pots and the Cornus will be planted in the space left by the conifers. They should catch plenty of sun there.
I'm hoping to edge the lawns and liberate the contorted hazel from the chocolate vine tomorrow but I may have my plans scuppered as I think I am getting a cold
I read Wild Swans about 25 years ago, and it still chills me to think about it. Magnificent book, but made me realised how blessed I was to have been born when and where I was.
No gardening for me today. Had to work this morning, and when I finally finished I couldn't summon the energy to get out there after all. Watched 3 back to back Poldarks instead ....nearly caught up now
I thought "Wild Swans" was a great book, really interesting. There are parts of the world I know nothing about. I enjoyed "City of Joy" and "Geisha" too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Fidgetbones thanks for info
. .DD - Wild Swans is harrowing. Having taught that period in History, I found it very interesting.
Yvie - hope you feel better in the morning.
