    Morning all, hi Patimage

That's a lovely atmospheric pic Liriimage.  Not so keen on your snake pic Patimage but the poppy is gorgeous.image

Obelixx at least you'll have another pair of hands to get all the jobs done with OH coming home early.

Hope today goes well Wonky and look forward to hearing all about it.  Chicky I hope you don't succumb to your fellow passengers germsimage.  I'm ready for Halloween as I've woken up with a spot on the end of my nose.  It's not a wart honest.  It's a beautiful morning here so far so I should really get a few things done in the garden before the cold spell arrives.

    Have a good day everyoneimage

image  The postman has just delivered my strawberry plants!   10 each of Vibrant, Marshmello and Malwina.  Not tried any of those before so it'll be interesting to see how they "do".  The roots are now soaking in a bucket of water so they should get planted before my visitor arrives this lunchtime...

Your poppy is a lovely reminder of summer, Pat.

Beautiful views Liri.  I love the stonework in that chapel.  Great poppy Pat but you can keep your snake.

I have doors and windows wide open to disperse odours after feeding our oak desk with beeswax and cleaning the glass doors on our woodburners.   It's a "bridge" holiday here with lots of people taking the day off to make a long weekend with tomorrow's public holiday and some perishers are out there shooting.  No off the lead stuff on walkies then.

I agree, Obelixx - I love that stonework.  Hope the new owners don't clean it up - the grime is definitely part of its history.  It's currently up for auction as a partly-converted 5 bedroomed house, guide price £150,000 - wish we could afford it... it's Grade 2 listed, and the Nave has to be left as it is, so we fancied (in our dreams) having it as a combined rehearsal/performance space and house.  I guess the cost of maintenance would be prohibitive.

I am not sure what to make of this . I was looking on the RHS website to get the hardiness of my Nerine Bowdenii,

The RHS stated that ...."Toxicity Acute ingestion may cause mild stomach upset" image

    Someone's typo I think .

Oooh Liri, it would make a brilliant b&b for art holidays ... if things had been different a few years ago that's what we would have done, but the Aged Ps needed us.

I've had a busy morning. Washing and baking - pheasant and black pudding pasties and a sausage apple and onion plait image

Hands off! They've only just come out of the oven!image

Joyce - what a shame.  I hope he's OK now and friend is wiser about treats.

Dove - admiration for the pastries.  I am still to crack pastry but I will, once we're settled with no more sorting and stashing to do.   In the meantime, I buy it ready made and ready rolled and pure butter.

I am filthy and hot.  Been moving pots from their original parking spot to a sunnier space and potting on one or two but now need OH for the rest.   Some are rather large so muck all over my jeans which means I'll have to iron a clean pair as these are the last.....

Oh dear Joyce - that wasn't helpful of friend image  Hope things are settling now ((hugs))

Well - there's hardly any sausage plait left!   OH had been going to have his usual poached eggs on toast ... until he saw the plait ... the plan had been to freeze it for another day, but if he's going to mow the grass ......... image

  • Wow, Dove, those look amazing! All indoor chores finished here, now I really have to go and clear and wash my greenhouse and get it bubble-wrapped. On the sunniest day we've had for two weeks. That'll larn me to procrastinate...
