Well hello there Edd.  I see that your humour hasn't changed imageimage. I've been wondering where you were.   Steve, I hope you mean the "other" walking dead, not we ladies.

yes I'm very much awake, Lantana. I've got an appointment to see a dietitian at 3pm (it's 12.50 now). I'm already anticipating the conversation with her. I have too much sugar in my tea, etc, etc. ignoring the info that the Dr has probably included in the sealed envelope I've to give her which would explain that I've got the type II diabetes under control. image

I saw my second snake for the week this morning. I was on the front veranda, taking out the scraps for the worm farm when I noticed a shiny curved stick about 2 metres from where I was about to walk. Yelled out for Hubby, .22 rushed out, snake hit at least twice before it disappeared into my Thyme border where it's not been seen since. This one was a brown, the one I nearly put my hand on a few days ago was a tiger. imageimageimage Not happy about the warmer days bringing them out from their hidey holes. The trouble is that its a part of living on a property in this country. Just need to keep eyes on the lookout. It took Hubby at least 18 months to get his health back to normal after a brown got him several years ago. I do worry about HRH. She's deaf now and has. Attracts on her eyes so only sees limited movement from us. I'll have to go out with her when she goes out for her twinkles, just in case she walks near a snake. Sigh!

I went into a pet shop last week. They had a live section with guinea pigs and rabbits in. I thought it was so sad. My mice  and voles run around outside. They may not live very long but they are free range. At least British pet shops no longer have dogs and cats in the window. Last time we were in Cairns,in Australia,  in the mall was a pet shop with puppies in the window in a small glass box. I got quite upset. It was horrible.

     Where have you been Edd?

It's been a quiet summer here. We seem to have lost a lot of regulars.

Eddie I was wondering how your RNLI training was going; here's hoping my 10 days drinking only water helped raise enough money to get you a fully waterproof uniform (I think I got enough for the wellies!)

Next year I'll do it for a month and get you the rest of the uniform. So long as there isn't a scout camp on; scout camps NEED tea.

Currently laying in bed (spare room is mostly intact) with both the dog and his lordship snoring away. It's still black outside and the radio is talking about frost.

    Hi all.

    Nice to see you Edd.

It is so dark now, light box coming out today.

Weather due to be dry for another few days, so hoping to catch up on all my jobs.

Lovely comments Clari., must make all the s##t worthwhile?

Punk: after the news I had regarding possible scrapping of the whole project (which although I thought was a bloody stupid idea anyway when it's your role is never good to hear) it was reassuring to see.

I just hope someone decides to advertise it so we can get many many people through the training while it's still here. I've heard so many people tell me "Oh I know first aid" then sprout some incorrect information out and others seem frozen in fear at the mere sight of Annie that you rather wonder if I was to fall I'll on the street who'd look after me? The more we train the better my chances!

Morning all you ,lovely people, and afties Pat. Hope the snakes aren't too plentiful  image

    Nice to see you Edd.

Good to be appreciated Clari. I did a first aid course years ago ( requirement for my job)  and have to say, it was pretty pointless. They got to the point where they were showing us how to bring people off hills with broken legs and arms. We were looking after 3 year olds for a few hours a day. If we couldn't stick a plaster on it, we had to call their parents. What we needed could have been covered in half an hour.  A complete waste of resources and time! image

Cold here and foggy, but don't know if we've had an early frost again like yesterday. Much better than the rain though - which is returning tomorrow I think. image

Better go and organise myself for the salt mines. Have a good day everyone image

Morning!  Gorgeous start to the day,  dragons breath in the valley (gd reliably informed me this is what mist is) sun on the hills.

    Edd nice to see you

Pat I remember being told the brown snakes were the most dangerous, take care. Do you have to keep the grass short all around the house?

Fairy, have a good day it will be lovely up at your salt mine just now with the colours

Chicky just a common acer palmaton, gave it a whole bucket of homemade kitchen compost this year?
