Having just read back since my last post, and not long for sleep, I probably won't remember half of what's been happening. However, I do recall, the technicolour swollen eye. I hope it doesn't affect your interview about the tea room.
Fidget, best wishes on your anniversary.
We've got one coming up later this month (44 years), but nowadays I feel a bit less like partying because Susan died 3 days before it 7 years ago. So I'm usually feeling a bit mopey for a few days. Hubby is OK about it being low key. Besides it's such a drag having to drive into town in the night and negotiating kangaroos and wombats on the road all the way home. What a misery I am. forget I said anything, we're good.
Hello all I'm back from the city having travelled in looking decidedly shaggy and returned with a much sleeker hairdo - fortunately it rained before I got to the salon and not when I left
I picked up a large and very fresh mackerel from the market fish stall and some good-looking shin of beef from the butcher plus some lovely plums from one of the green-grocer stalls, and some mascara from Boots the Chemist. Now I'm home with some M&S sushi for lunch - it's wet and drippy out there so I shall spend the afternoon knitting before spicing and pan-frying the mackerel and serving it with some red rice and quinoa and tenderstem broccoli.
If anyone wishes to join me on the sofa they're very welcome - the kettle is on ...

Yvie - hope your cold clears soon and that DD's purple eye clears up.
Pat - we had our Golden Wedding earlier this year, just a few friends and my daughter because of OH
who had no idea what it was about. Two J Basford books delivered today ready for winter time filling.
I've made the most of a beautiful day. .. got two hours in the garden this morning when the cleaner was here and have managed to get a few bits more done this afternoon. Grass man has cut and edged the grass. It will probably need one more cut before winter.
Good news, the man from the mairie says yes!! He was very enthusiastic, offered all sorts of advice re grants and start up help and also offered to be my number one customer if I sell scones with lots of cream. The house it seems is on green belt land, as it were, so can't have any building work done and is also in the sight of the old church in town so there are limitations on paintwork and such like but he assured me the garden terrace could be utilised and no problem with parasols and other non fixed items. He also said if I encounter any other issues from neighbours to go and see him straightaway. So first hurdle cleared. Another appointment with the bank on Weds am. Fingers crossed.
Eye still throbbing and still purple, but no worse. It is a bit odd (and lucky) as the bruising is in exactly the place where eye shadow goes so it was well disguised this afternoon. I hardly ever wear make up so not sure how I'll look tomorrow with one eye done and the other not.

A great new start for you and for Charlie. You both deserve every success. Love to you both.
Stopped for a cuppa mid Rock 2 moving.
It's now up , off the ground on half railways sleepers. I've managed to get it so I could lever/ swivel it with an 8' fence post, so at least it's pointing in the right direction. Just need a hefty towing strap and I'll be off.
Driving tomorrow pm and I've agreed to the extra shift on Thursday 8am-2pm so I'll still be able to get back to some gardening before it gets dark.
Thanks all, it is only the very first step, but actually a very important one, so I am hoping fortune is on my side, I will keep at it until I've exhausted every last avenue as I am convinced this is the perfect project for me.
Well done on the rock moving Hosta, that particular project of mine never got off the ground (literally) but I did have a dead weight at the time holding me back too.
Now, I have 2 growing lads to feed and an evening of Hip Hop to endure, oops enjoy.
Have a good evening all.

I hope you manage to enjoy your anniversary, Pat. It sounds so exotic negotiating kangaroos and wombats on the road! Deer and wild boar here.
Good luck with the Tearoom and the Maire, DD. Is there any sun near you? You could wear sunglasses.
We've been shopping and picked up my pullovers from M & S. They all fitted!
