Enjoying a lazy morning here then we're off to Lady Bowers for a walk. I've wanted to go for ages but we never seem to get a day off together (his lordship is happy for the hound and I to go on our own but... well if I spend all my time with the dog my sanity might be at risk).
The DIY can wait... at least until this afternoon when we have the carpet man coming to give us quotes.
Lovely photo FG. I love water. There's a large reservoir here at the bottom of the village and some other small lakes and large ponds we will explore with the dogs when the unpacking is done. Just when I thought I'd come to teh end of the assorted wine, water and beer glasses I found a box of cocktail and shot glasses. Not that we're alcoholic or anything but we have certainly been through some drink styles in our 33 years of married bliss.......
Clothes today. Need some long sleeved t-shirts.
Hope you've found a dog and OH proof carpet Clari.
Contrary Pusscat is fine today - bright eyed, purry, cuddly and no stiffness or limp! We'll keep a close eye on her.
Now to check out Dove's photos with my 2nd coffee.

Unfortunately I'm sat in A&E at the moment, woke up with a awful swollen, weeping purple eye, look like I've been in a fight. ? Think sinusitis just got worse. ?

Thank you, everyone. I think hubby forgot when he went off to work this morning, but we are going out for a meal tonight at the Chinese that we had our first date.(in 1998) You can't hurry these things you know.
Oh DD you are in the wars. I hope they sort it out soon.
Oh dear DD, maybe you've got something in it. Hope they sort it.
We are going to supermarket, need butter and milk and loo rolls. But first will pick up my M & S order of winter pullovers from the paper shop. The delivery people can never find my house.
Mild frost again -2°

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That's nippy Busy! DD - hope your eye is a simple problem and gets sorted quickly.
We're off to Chateau d'Olonne this pm for a supermarket raid too as it's near a freezer shop and I need to stock up on broad beans and peas and emergency frozen fish supplies for when I've not planned a meal in advance. While we're on we'll have a gander at the harbour in Les Sables d'Olonne as it's where the Vendée Globe round the world, single-handed, non-stop yacht race will start at the beginning of November and we want to get our bearings.

Feeling very achy and snotty this morning. Have managed to get out and trim the lawns and take a few photos. Will need to water the pots and baskets sometime today it's been ages since we had any rain.
Not doing Nanna duty tomorrow due to cold, don't want to pass it on. Nanna in law will be taking the reigns.
Happy anniversary Fidgets, I can't believe it's been a year.
DD hope your eye improves, sounds nasty. I read Wild Swans a while ago. Saying I enjoyed it doesn't seem quite right but it was an interesting book, that I'm glad I read.
Friend is popping in for a coffee this morning, have warned her about the germs but she doesn't seem to mind.
I'm back - seem to have mystified all the doctors. No infection, no loss of vision, no obvious damage but I have a real 'shiner'. They are convinced I am a battered wife afraid to speak up but no-one has been near enough to hit me, especially in bed for, well I don't know how long. My sinus headache (dare I say) seems to have gone so I am hoping it is just a sign I'm getting better. My friend has suggested it might be shingles, but the doctor doesn't seem to think so. Now, this afternoon I have to go visit the mairie on business, I'll have to wear heavy purple eyeshadow to disguise the shiner, typical, just when I need to look professional and smart. Thanks for all the good wishes.
Obelixx, Charlie is just about to start a topic on the Vendée Globe, if you can find out any information that would be a super help. I read Ellen MacArthur's biography years ago and we have been re-reading certain chapters and looking at the pictures but it is all a long time ago now. I might have to arrange a trip up there.
OK, off to make myself look human and convince the mairie we really do need an English Tea Rooms in our little French town.

Plenty of info online DD but I'll see what I can find. Even if we don't have time today I want to visit the harbour soon before the weather changes. Good luck at the mairie.
