Out all morning with OH,trying to dig out the concrete that was holding the supports for the now down, rotted decking! Huge great lumps of it,which had to be rolled down the garden path!! We're too old for this! ??
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Yesterday I did a bit of weeding, lawn edging and mulching. I also repotted some penstemon and verbena bonariensis. A little bit more of the same today I think.
Sown more seeds, all are doing well in the conservatory either on heated propogators or just window ledges. Have started a bit earlier this year, so far so good.
Garden is relatively tidy now been cutting back and tidying over the last few weeks, just a couple of climbing roses to tackle, will wait now until after the cold snap.
Covered a couple of trees in pots - polystyrene has it's uses.
A nice walk in country lanes this afternoon - saw hens, sheep, a goat, geese and plenty of horses and birds. Very enjoyable - nice to take a day off from gardening once in a while.
Singled out 100 Red Cherry tomato plants in the Keder Greenhouse this morning. In the afternoon went to Dobbies and bought 6 Clematis from the sale bench £1.99 to £2.49 each also 2 climbing roses £4.99 each. The Clematis now been pruned top two Inches soil renewed and feed and watered. Reason for buying daughter got her first house last April so going to landscape back garden it's all lawn just now am looking forward to doing it.

I just looked in my garden diary for next week and it says “plant out peas if ground not frozen”

I’ve planted some stuff I picked up from Wilco before the snow hits, I would wait but they are properly sprouting so need to take their chances.
Also brought in three rose pots worth of top soil because I don’t know when my new bare roots are coming.
getting a fair few bulbs coming up now so when the beast goes away I’ll be able to do the weeding and edging.

Only went to plots to pick sprouts & dig leeks to cold and ground too heavy for anything else.!
The wind was soooh cold, I sowed tomato seeds, in the comfort of the conservatory and they are in the kitchen window!
