Had a weed blitz today, moved some nice weeds like daisies and dead nettle to areas I'm trying to encourage them. Does look a bit better now. Managed to cram 3 trugs-worth into the brown bin even though it was already full.
Having to prevent myself moving things and tinkering before all the plants are up - must have faith that I planned it all well enough last year?
Full day in the garden. 7.30am until 6pm. I'm done in!
Bad day for compost - some seriously bad smelling bags from the garden centre (that will be going back). Then I excitedly went to mulch my beds by emptying the compost bin that has been working away all year, and discovered that, last year, my none-gardening other half put a really thick layer of moss - yep, MOSS(!) in, that he had raked from the lawn into the compost bin. The whole lot had to go. It had got everywhere ?
Potted on some seedlings, sowed some more seeds, moved five crowns of rhubarb, potted up some raspberry canes, planted my strawberries, fed everything, planted out my broadbeans, said adios to my camellia that the frost had caught, weeded, tried to get rid of some ivy, washed the outside of my waterbutt, dug over the bed where runner beans will go and drank lots of tea!
Sounds like i was a good day yesterday for most of us to get in our gardens and get digging! I weeded my new border planted kast year, lots o allium mount everest pushing through, can't wait to see them. Dug over all my little border areas, fed everything with a slow release fertiliser and added fresh compost to my pots. Still lots to do but Rome wasn't built in a day, still one likes to press on whilst the weather is good. Am nervius about planting out my broadbeans, about 10" tall now. Sowed some spinach, radish and beetroot ?
Phew! I spent over an hour feeding and watering all my clay plant pots, the daffodils were flagging and keeling over in the heat of today. I did over plant them with about 20+ bulbs in each pot all vying for the rain water. It had been foggy last week but perhaps not enough rain to keep them going.
I also placed various aquilegia in their 3" pots around the flower bed, and I will try to plant them out tomorrow if the weather is nice. I have Pretty Bonnet, Pink Flamingo, Iceberg and Spring Magic so far, with more to come when large enough to plant out.
Guernsey donkey2' it was glorious here today and another corker of a day planned for tmrw, hope you have a lovely day too, so you can carry on planting? I love aquilegia, did you grow yours from seed? I also love astrantia, i'd like to try those from seed too?
Golly, tootles not suprised you are worn out. I cut the lawn for the first time this year, yesterday, nearly killed me! Did some tidying up. Glorious day 14d and no wind, greenhouses all opened up.

Hello a bit rainy and overcast today so did some repotting/tidying up in greenhouse
A bit worn out after a day in London yesterday , to be honest
Lovely day this aft', managed to complete the hedge (on my side). Took a few hours. Replaced a fence panel that was blown down a month or two ago.
Jolly nice here too

A bit of a rest day today, but I did plant out a few more Geums this morning that were pot bound.
The beetroot I sowed a week ago are germinating fast in their module tray.
