Glad to hear some of you are having fun playing in the snow☃️
A colleague kindly gave me some bricks so collected them this PM, got 49, hopefully might have enough with the ones I've already got and laid out on the ground to create a new brickety path, will try and create a step and have a corner to create also somehow. Got some bags of sharp sand yesterday, couldn't remember if I used sharp or building sand to create the last brick path but it has welded itself together nicely without actually being stuck down (if that makes sense?).
Got a lot of projects going on at the moment, could do with completing one of them?
I know that feeling too Victoria, it also would be nice to be able to tick one of them off the list! I just hope we can get most of them done before the nicer weather arrives in the Spring.
Nothing done outside today as it is far too rough, and damp. We now have a fallen tree to cut to add to the list of jobs, I think we may have to call in some help in the New Year, I just hope we don't get a load of snow here too!
This is a bit of a cheat as I actually completed this last week but was very glad to see yesterday that it has survived the snow- so far. I have been lifting moss from a shady patch in front of our old dry goods store on the Allotments & putting it into a Japanese Garden where I volunteer. It is very tricky to keep the pieces as large as possible, I just hope it "takes".
Have to say I am quite pleased with myself, there was just bare earth between the stones before.
Got out into jardin this PM, the manuka I moved last week doesn't appear to be dead yet so planted up the rest of the area. A yellow clem at the back, a purple comfrey in the middle (accidentally snapped its biggest root) a sea thrift at the front and left a fancy oregano in its pot on the soil for now.
Started planting up under the kitchen window, a small space vacated by the manuka. Used the hole for two different coloured alpine clems (a planting idea I stole off Fairygirl) and moved a couple of squatters out that I had no inspiration for at the time. I've got all the plants I need to finish it off but felt like I was annoying the birds so came back in.
Got a new tit, coal I think, seem to have formed a mixed flock with the greats and blues. Also saw the wren hopping about under the patio door sill, must be some critters sheltering there?

Exactly GD, I'd like to tick something off ✅
I don't think anything I have started was a standalone job affecting nothing else so I have started everything and finished nothing
Laying snow & sleety drizzle means nothing done outside unless you count digging the car out!
Been outside this afternoon using chain saw to cut up wood for fire ?

That does look nice Iain, very natural and appears to have been there for quite some time. I must get OH to look at these pictures!
Wow, that looks great Iain
