Hi all, I've not managed to get out into the garden for over a week as I picked up a dose of flu (and proper flu, not 'man flu'!) Feeling much better today (at last) and ready to go back to work only to see the forecast!
Just hope I don't end up with 'old moania' as we call it around here!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Sorry to hear you have not been well Bob, and poor Panseyface sounds like you are having a tough time too
Joyce you have been doing the leaf clearing like me. Our friend who is staying with us helped with the raking and i gathered into the bags, we filled 3 jewson bags and two wheelie bins, still many more leaves to come down from our 7 oaks but they are beautiful, it was a lovely day in the garden....sadly i think i have twinged my back
My husband mowed the lawn today then helped me to shift more stones from our proposed pond site and is now in bed with a bad eye and can hardly see in front of him (he wears glasses so assumed that he was safe from flying grit or anything else that becomes airborne as he mowed the grass). But sorry to see that Pansyface and Bob are suffering too.
We have had some lovely sunny weather today, not before time, but only 9 degrees and a strong easterly wind.
When the Rain Deer is finished please post a photo if you can GWRS as I am most intrigued to see it.
Lovely day here so plenty of digging and moving stone out of big hole for the pond. Husband has week off work, so making the most of his extra strength - he is (almost) counting the days until he can go back to his office for a physical rest from all this hard labour!
hi all been down this morning to check garden house next door has taken his raised beds up put a load of 6x3 4x4 3x2 timbers over fence about 40 pieces from 5ft 6x3 4ft 4x4 3x2 about 6to7 fts will find a good use for them outside onion racks and stacking trays on will give him ajar of wifes chutney and vedge this sat morn Michael
GD - I have OH busy outside too. Yesterday we bought 16 x 70 litre bags of compost on half price offer so this morning he's forked over the bed under the albizzia and spread compost ready for me to plant bulbs and treasures we brought with us. He has cleverly spread all 16 bags in that one bed so is now forking over a smaller bed round a hibiscus we've rescued from smothering by honeysuckle so he can barrow some over there.
Luckily we had already planned to go and get more compost for other beds and future veggie plot as our new bins won't produce anything like enough anything like fast enough.
After walkies with the dogs I shall be out there planting and having fun.

16 bags at half price - a bargain not to be missed - they must have known you were moving into the area Obelixx - well done OH to spread it so quickly - he is a glutton for work isn't he?
Been down in the hole again today - it's improving but slowly, and I may have some pictures by the w/end although you wouldn't guess we have put in so many hours. Thank goodness I was directed to a pond digging video where it was mostly stone - it has spurred me up from the doldrums.
I've sent him out to buy 16 more while I ponder plantings. Good luck with the hole. Ours is going to need a bulldozer as it is full of brambles and bull rushes and we are not risking our backs or wellies in it.
