sounds like some gardening has been done despite the weather today ?
This rough corner of our garden had been an old dumping area for grass cuttings for some 50 years. It is very dry as under cover of oak trees, but we decided to start to give it a make over. The sleepers we managed to set ourselves and then I used some old compost from my compost heap to use as a mulch. Now some searching for plants that like dry shade. Really looking forward to seeing the area in 6 months with happy plants ?
Down to 4 degrees in beautiful Brum this morning. Planted out some Alpine Veronica Trehane in well gritted soil to front of the boarder. They will give a splash of blue sapphire flowers in spring to compliment the Veronica red fox I planted in summer.
Apart from cutting down the herbaceous boarders in preparation for winter and composting, that my gardening year finished. All my tender plants are tucked up in the greenhouse where they all think they are on a warm tropical island??(I just wish I was)
That is gardening in my book in fact 75% of my gardening takes place on the allotments. Heading there soon to check Dahlias dug up last week. If they are dry will pack into crates to put away into my (newly) insulated shed.
Making up for the poor gardening weather yesterday. We moved the bird feeding station, pruned a beech and magnolia, dug out some more dead escallonia and planted a few more rooted polyanthus, oh and removed dead leaves from the pond. A good day by all accounts.
Yesterday pm spent digging on 'Plot, the last yard took ages as there was a patch of bindweed invading from the path. Dark by the time I left but pleased to finish that section. Frost forecast a weekend should work it's magic on the clay- Here's hoping
I spent the morning on paper work and then repotting house orchids. Hoping for a repeat of my 44 orchid flowers on one plant over the past few months - certainly worth the cost of the plant - much better lasting value than a bunch of flowers.
Planted up more cyclamen in the driveway this afternoon, the driveway is starting to look very red, with the remaining red pelagoniums, and the new cyclamen, even, dare I say Christmassy with the pine trees, needles and cones.

I'd be interested in what you do with the leaf mould, I'm just starting my first batch.
Cleaned both our cars
Tried to unblock external drain
Chopped up some more ivy and laurel
Mowed up some leaves for the compost
Mowed the lawn twice
Started expanding the compost area
Replanted rocket
Reattached drain pipe
Gathered and mowed more leaves for the leaf pile
Put away hammock
Sawed up some branches for a wood pile with daughter and refilled the insect hotel
No sign of the robin today
Mowed the lawn twice? The grass must grow quick where you are!
Or I mow very slowly

The opposite to you GD. Yesterday was beautiful and I gardened for most of the day but today there's a biting cold wind so nothing done.
