Lovely surprise yesterday, just as I was setting off for work the TV man came back with the proper box - he had spent the afternoon trying to scrounge one off all his contacts, think he felt a bit sorry for me - so at last I have TV - hurrah and how kind of him. Sadly I worked so couldn't take advantage but have enjoyed watching the BBC news this morning.
Bushman, big hug for you, do keep popping in.
Fairy, don't mention the car, it's my biggest worry, you never know the moment do you when it might need something and definitely can't live without one here.
Nice gesture from Gardening Club Obelix, you must be well thought of.
12 hour shift again today, 11 till 11, but missing Charlie so it's the best place to be. I get to see him tomorrow, picking him up from school and have him until Saturday morning. Next week is much more in my favour with him. Tough but worth it.
I did also spend Monday afternoon looking at potential locations for 'Chateau de Gateau', couple of promising places, will keep you informed. Also am thinking of attending a local Autumn Fair and having a Chateau de Gateau', stall for the day, test the waters as it were.
Have a good day all.

Hi Wonky. I'm so glad you've got that job. I did that for some years while I was studying for my Hort qualifications. Totally loved it.
Yes, I was really unsettled not being able to use the iPad Etc. I even had to read a real book last night instead of browsing through the various interesting things on line.
hello to everyone else.
ps. I was only thinking this morning that I haven't seen the skinks since autumn and then as I was walking past the back door, there was one of the little ones. (Waiting for chopped carrot. I'm amazed that it remembered!) bit of a worry with the cat here. There will need to be some supervision.
Re the Begging for Syria thread - Nora did take their thread down yesterday - they've started again piggybacking on the earlier thread about the tv programme. I'm sure Nora will take more action today.
First day back at tennis today ... hope my shoulder holds up ... I shall be very careful with my service action.
Chicky, I know what you mean about the radio

Morning all.
Overcast and muggy here...what's new?
If that begging woman spent as much time in her local soup kitchen as she does on here her neighbourhood would be a better place.
As a child of 1970s Belfast I could give her the rounds of the kithen but what's the point? There's none so blind as those who will not see!
Where is it? I've had a look and can't find which thread you are talking about,
Morning folks, afternoon Pat, hope your sons cat settles in, glad you are able to use your gadgets now, you must have been bored!
Chicky, glad you had a great time in Brighton, looked a bit blowy!
Hello there Bushman, good to see you popping in, wonky hug!
Plantpauper, I know what you mean, I've had a few words on that thread myself,
Morning all those to come, another day at the coalface
Have a good day all

chicky - what on earth were you listening to? I love the radio ( but mainly Radio 2) especially lovely Simon Mayo who makes me laugh constantly.
I hope they do something about that thread today Ppauper and Wonks. It's beginning to sound like propaganda...
We'll be thinking abou you B'man - even if you're not actually 'here'.
Good news for you re the TV, DD. Lovely when people do something a bit more than just their job
Better take daughter to work - and then I might get outside as the rain has finally stopped.Hurrah!
Have a good day - especially all the workers....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

DD - how kind of the TV man

A Chateau de Gateau pop up stall sounds a really good idea

Has it gone?
