I don't quite understand why they are being so pilloried here. I didn't see the original programme but it sounds like a reasonable cause to support. No?

Maybe, but not on this forum.   It all seems a bit off to me.

Support sent via proper channels, audited and accounted for yes. Requests for support to be sent to a facebook or just giving page, No.

If you want to send money to Syria direct you may be accused of supporting a terrorist organisation.

Support sent via Unesco, or Red Cross, or other known charity by all means. It should be shared amongst all people in need in the area , not just one man and his cats.

This JayneReed has also popped up on another gardening forum, The GardenDrum forum based in Australia.

  • I agree Fidget, proper channels only, Jayne probably is the lovely lady she says, however there is always the possibility that she has been duped by somebody, I personally choose not to take the risk and think that the continued posting appears badgering. She is obviously passionate about the people involved and her wanting to help can never be a bad thing, I don't think though that that is a sensible or reliable method of raising and distributing aid.

I spent ages at the jewellers today. Mother in Law used to wear a couple of three stone diamond rings, always referred to as her knuckledusters.  Following her demise a couple of years ago, the only thing left to be sorted is her jewellery. I made the proposal that her two granddaughters might like to have them, but as they are rather old fashioned, it is unlikely   that they would wear them. The jeweller  has taken out the stones, and is going to make two pairs of studs and two drop pendants out of them, so they have something modern, but with the old stones to remember her by.

I have to ring up the bird seed people tomorrow. the order placed  for mum last week should have been delivered by now. Mum has the same problem as me, her deliveries often go to a parallel universe, because the road kinks and the straight bit is a different road.

I have got to the point when a pizza delivery man knocks on the door with a box, I ask, Is it paid for? No? well you probably want the next town then. I live on L Lane, which becomes L road in the next town, then L Lane again in the next village. Of course they number them again in each section, so there are three with my number.  Confusing or what. The neighbours did manage to stop a tipper lorry from dropping a huge load on my drive once, when I was not in.imageimage

    Time for bed again.

I suspect the mods will have a few complaints to clear up tomorrow.

  • Hi folks. Not posting much not great company at moment. Looking in when I can.

Hello everyone. I've been off air because with the 24hr heart monitor, I wasn't allowed to use anything electrical that might interfere with my monitor reading. Had to go without, iPad, mobile phone and Fitbit watch And also not allowed to use the electric blanket. Had to pull it out of the socket. All done now, so I'm looking forward to having a nice long shower this evening. I've 5 itchy spots on my chest from the sticky things.image  I won't be seeing the Dr for 6 weeks, so won't get any results for ages.

We're off the Canberra tomorrow to collect our son's cat. We are minding her for about a month while he goes on an overseas trip with his class mates and teacher.  I'm worrying that the snakes will be emerging from their hidey holes in that period and she is an inside cat except when she is here, so I hope she can contain her curiosity if she sees one.

have a good day when you all wake up.image

Lovely gesture from Ob's gardening group - they"re obviously going to miss you big time.

Hope your nieces enjoy their jewellry Fidget - great idea, much better  than having them sat forever in jewellry boxes, but still keep their meaning.

My life is currently being ruled by the radio - spent 10 minutes in a layby on the way home yesterday, as I didn't trust myself to listen AND drive.  Emerged with red eyes, feeling rather sheepishimage

Can't get used to this weird weather we are having - very warm but cloudy ......most oddimage
