Will be icing the cake tomorrow after work. I may have to bring home a large amount of ribbon to disguise the sides if my palette knife skills are a bit lacking... 'If' - who am I kidding? They ARE lacking!
I will try and upload a pic. Depending on how nice it looks
Thanks LP - I find it hard to believe she's that age
'Medicating' with cider Clari...love it! The phrase, not the cider..
Lesley - hope the knees are ok tomorrow
A bit disappointed there's no round up at Wimbers tonight. It was all over bar the shouting when I came in.
I had to smile at the irony though - they had to leave the tennis on the Beeb, because Gardener's World was coming on...and it was the repeat!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Got a lot done in the garden today but it was quite hot this afternoon so am feeling it now. Lots of big gaps in the borders now the spring / early summer stuff has been hoiked out or cut back - honesty, hesperis and aquilegia are really quite large plants and leave a big hole when they've gone. Still, there's a nursery bed full of plants so no doubt it will be stuffed to the gunwales again in a few weeks.
Didn't see any tennis today - was it good? Hoping to watch some when I get home from the office tomorrow - hoping Federer and Murray will be playing. A little bit of Roger always makes my day
Nice cake Fairy - could do with a bit right now with a nice cup of tea.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Lily; if I plan to rest six jobs appear! I haven't gotten the hang of relaxing yet.
Fairy; I can confirm cider is a much better pain killer than anything over the counter. Relaxes ALL your muscles thus preventing you from tensing up in fear it will hurt (because of course it will if you tense!) and let's your brain stop worrying.
Brilliant stuff! They did after all say an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
I think the knees will be OK after a good soak in the bath and plenty of hand cream. Just less than five weeks for skin to heal, blisters to subside, nails to regrow and to be able to stand up straight before our weeks holiday.
Don't care about the looks Fairy - it's the taste.
Clari I spent many years in Somerset and can't stand cider. OH grew up in Scotland and can't abide whisky. Each to their own and, if it works for you, be happy. Don't fall over though
Spot on Fairy! a lovely quiet weekend! Four loads of washing done and dried between showers, dead heading, grass cut, chicken and leek pie made and one for MIL,graduation gift bought for step womble, hair dyed, successfully thankfully! book reading done, cats entertained, garden watered, then rained! housework done, but somehow its all been relaxing!
Nice to be missed Lilyp have to agree about the cyclists! They make me very nervous/impatient! maybe not a good combo!
Looking forward to seeing you Thursday Dove, been yonks! Make some room for plant donations!
Happy birthday to Fairylet and Mr Dewdrops for tomorrow! Count me in as a cake tester, happy to provide the service free of charge! I've been mulling over the idea of a Victoria sponge with gooseberry jam, elderflower cream and fresh raspberries.... sounds like more than mulling over actually, think a plan is formulating!
Gentle hugs to Runny, hope your feeling less tender.
Fairy; I never recovered from breaking my back in five places so I profess the cider more for that than my nerves! (I keep 1kg of haribo available for staff at all times for nervous energy to help us keep up with scouts especially beavers).
Lesley; fear not my mobility us as awful as always! I can't drink beer or wine and alcohol pops are... well awful. But a good glass of cider does wonders!

Best wishes to all, early night for me
Good isn't it chicky?
I'd have thought cider was a requirement when dealing with those little darlings all the time....
T'bird - 'a little bit of Roger always makes my day'.....

Should be home from work in time for Andy then. Is it wrong that I hope it'll be raining and I'll have to stay inside....
I've had some strawberries and cream just to get myself in the mood
I managed to foil the magpies and get a couple of home grown ones. Lovely Jubbly
