    Morning all.

We had a bit of rain last night, not as much as I'd hoped, so not enough to give Wonky any. But it has put some in the waterbutts so the blueberries will be happier.

Sounds like a lovely day Wonkyimage  Love Brighton - especially the lanes (sister used to live there, and is still not far from it).

Think Mr C must have been looking in here yesterday - when I got in from work he suggested making the most of the beautiful evening by going for a walk around the punchbowl, followed by alfresco chish and fipsimage. This was our view whilst we munchedimage

When we had DIL's flat in Eastbourne for English visits, before buying the Norfolk cottage, we used to go the theatre in Brighton, spend the afternoon there first. We went on the bus as parking is incredibly expensive. Will stay a night with Brighton friends the end of August.

Have done 2 hours of weeding and chopping.

Love Brighton, like Chicky I love the lanes too. Also like going to the Marina for a meal and watch the world go by.

Home from the hill, showered, washing on and a cuppa is being 'had'. All's well with my world  image

Hope to have some nice pix - will get them on just now. I  managed to get some of the meadow pipits which are in abundance on the hills, but they flit around so quickly that I rarely get a chance to  take a photo. There was a whole bundle of them on the way down - swooping around and sitting on the deer fence. A few youngsters among them.  They're so sweet...but I couldn't eat a whole one....image  image

Lots of hill fog drifting in and out the glen, and cloud hanging onto the tops, but the weather stayed quite fair. Rain was  forecast for the afternoon so it made sense to get out reasonably early.

Lovely pic chicky. Bet the chish and fips were good too  image

Clari - you'll know the person well enough to judge how you respond, but how about a cheeky 'was beginning to think you'd emigrated!' type of comment....image

It was a bit late for Burns Night, Dove- perhaps he'd got a bit lost....image

Wonks will be weary - I know I would! image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Night all

Been catching up on our recorded Tour de France stages tonight so only tonight's outstanding now. Had a surprise visit from the one who usually just drops in when she feels like, then sits and drinks cups of tea and talks loudly over the TV. Her name is Regina so you'll know next time when I say Regina has been visiting again, you'll all know it's THAT one. image She also like to stand in front of the heater(fire) so that it blocks most of the heat.  Enough said.

Time to read myself to sleep.image

  • Afternoon all!

Mums birthday meal out was like something out of Fawlty Towers! It was all topped off when they produced the birthday cake, and it transpired they'd run out of plates/bowls/cutlery, so we had to eat it with our fingers off napkins. We saw the funny side of it at least, but the manageress wasn't too happy when she found out about the catalogue of errors when she came back into work this morning!

I feel like I've spent all day in the car today. Took husband to collect the Harley, got stuck in a traffic jam, I drove back whilst he rode back. Then had to drop some bits off to a customer, then we ended up on a hunt for new garden storage. It wouldn't have been so bad if the air con didn't need recharging.

I'm having a little sit down now, which may end up turning into a nap!
