There's nothing like the old remedies, is there? I can feel it doing me good already. Thanks for the reminder, Flumpy, image

For anyone not speaking Aussie, cough lollies are  hard boiled cough sweets, not things on sticks. I made that mistake the first time I went diving in PNG, on an Australian dive boat. The instructions said to pack small gifts for the local children, like pencils and lollies .  I took  a bag of pens, crayons, and a monster bag of chupa chups. The local kids in their dug out canoes had no idea what to do with a chupa chup lolly.  They would sit in their canoes on the back of the dive boat, watching the entertainment of these pale skinned people strapping on air tanks and going underwater. I offered a lolly to one of them, who just looked at it. I mimed  sticking it in my mouth, and he did the the same, except it still had the wrapper on. I then had to ask for it back, unwrap it and give it him back. The look of surprise on his face, I will never forget.

The second time we went, I took hard boiled candy, and unwrapped it before offering it.

The pencils and crayons we gave to a teacher that brought the children on the boat for a sing sing. She was so grateful for them, it makes me cry thinking about it. People that were genuinely happy with so little that they had.

    Morning all.

Pat I hope you feel better soon.

Well the sun is currently shining and family are expected in a few hours so dare not check the weather report! Hosta; typical isn't it. I'm sure that if I ever had a surprise day off it would snow just to put paid to plans to enjoy the (currently full of frogs) garden.
