Keeping up appearances DD. If things weren't as they are with you both would you feel obliged to go then or are you just going to appease him and not rock the boat?

I'm not the least bit offended WW. imageimageimage image Kidding!

You've had a busy week-end. I hope your efforts are appreciated. My mum is texting her dog walkers/house minders right now thanking them for keeping an eye while she's at mine. She's eighty and really appreciates their help. It means the world to her.

Afternoon all, or is it evening now?  Spent yesterday looking after Mabel and then drove over to secondborn's to have Jonah for the night.  They went to a friends birthday meal so I stayed the night.  The baby was very good but I'm still shattered.  He is now on a totally synthetic milk, whatever that is, and so far he's much better (fingers crossed).

P'doc, sorry to hear about your troubles, hope you can join in the banter again soon.  Have read back but can't remember much. Oh RB hope you get your transport sorted out and the freezer.

DD I haven't caught up on 'Worries thread' hope you and Charlie are OK.

Have been watching tennis when I can.  Wont get to see the final tomorrow though as I'm going to Hidcote Manor and out for afternoon tea at Cotswold House with First and Secondborn.  It was part of my birthday present.  I'll need to tape it.

Hope everyone is OK and enjoying their weekend.

Have a good time at Hidcote Yvie - I was there a couple of weeks ago when we were in the middle of that torrential downpours period - it was absolutely beautiful image

DD - there will probably be a few more days like this to come I'm afraid - but I'm sure you've done the right thing tonight. Enjoy dinner with Charlie & I hope work goes ok too. Don't forget to give yourself a breather now and again image

Wonky I'm sure MIL really appreciates your hard work. If the plants you've given her are half as nice as the ones you gave me, her garden will be a riot of colour in no time!

Hello again image We've called in at Wonky's and she and OH have popped down the road to get Chish & Fipps for them and us and step grandson who has grown to 6'6" since we saw him last  image

Wonkys garden is a real riot of colour - it reminds me of a painting I've seen but I can't remember which one - I'll have to put my thinking cap on ...

DD - love to you and Charlie. Rant away as much as you need. Making you out to be the villain is all part of their thought process.   My ex had the nerve to ask me to consider letting my girls move in with their father. I would pick them up on the way to work, take them to school and do the same in reverse after work. This was after the house was already up for sale and I think we'd had viewers. Denial is a word men seem to keep in their vocabulary for a very long time. image

Apologies to all the nice men, but...  they simply don't like women making the decision that it's over....

Glad you got things sorted at MIL Wonks. I can't bear the thought of elderly people feeling vulnerable in their own home. image  Hope he tries it again and gets caught on the barbed wire....

Did I say that out loud? image

Been busy outside as the rain stayed off and it was rather pleasant. Lots of tidying, front grass cut and bark put down along the base of the hedge. Gate post put in and some daffs split up and potted. Need another shower now as I'll have to go and get fairylet and buy some food. image

Did anyone else see a dog dragging its bum along the ground (as they do)  across screen in one of the adverts at the top of the page or did I imagine it ? If I didn't imagine it, what on earth was it advertising?image

    In London. Keen but lazy.

An Asda 'special' flowers - daughter works there part time. Can't believe you've never heard of it though! We have a very good curry house near here though - they make superb pakora, and curries  image

I used to make it when the girls were small and I had time to be a domestic goddess image
